Character Continued: Levers that Turn Your Experience in Value

Having looked at qualities of Godly Character last week I felt I wanted to delve deeper and identify some of the levers that we have grown accustomed to using to turn everyday experiences into life changing value.

Two people can have the same experience and derive different value form the moment.
“Two men sit behind bars, one sees mud and the other sees stars!” Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison and changed a nation, while furthering his studies. He ensured a peaceful dismantling of an evil regime of apartheid in South Africa and promoted forgiveness and reconciliation in spite of his suffering at the hands of his oppressors. Some others that spent time with him in jail had the same experience but turned out to be Tsotsi’s instead!

Bob Dylan went the market with his friend and folk singer girlfriend. Later that day he composed three songs about what he observed while shopping.
Archimedes takes a bath and discovers displacement. He gets so excited he runs out naked shouting eureka! He was trying to prove the purity of the gold in the crown through density. It proved to have other elements besides gold.

According to Pappus of Alexandria, Archimedes’ work on levers caused him to remark: “Give me a place to stand on, and I will move the Earth.” (Greek: δῶς μοι πᾶ στῶ καὶ τὰν γᾶν κινάσω)[43] Plutarch describes how Archimedes designed block-and-tackle pulley systems, allowing sailors to use the principle of leverage to lift objects that would otherwise have been too heavy to move. See Archimedes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archimedes
He claimed if he had a big enough lever he could move a planet as long as he had a placed to stand on. The principle of leverage is useful I spiritual warfare and conquest too.
Using a spiritual lever is something that we learn in apostolic ministry. You can leverage your faith on the immovable pivot of God’s Written Word to shift anything.
It is the leveraging of experience into valuable life lessons that will bring the proper adjustments to our paradigms of thinking, and in so doing change our lives.

Here are some levers that we can learn to use to develop more of the character of Christ in us:
1. Godliness with Contentment
1Ti 6:6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
2. Humility
Humility leverages God’s grace.
James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
3. Meekness
Meekness leverages your possession of the earth and peace.
Psa 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
4. Reflection and Meditation
Psalms 49:3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding.
5. Faith in Jesus Name
Faith in the name of Jesus leverages your miracle. Acts 3:16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
