Enjoy the Space
By Apostle Aje Pelser, Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town
“Enjoy the space.”
I kept hearing this throughout the lockdown in my spirit: “Enjoy the Space.” There is a feeling of guilt that sets in as soon as you find an open space and clearance in life.
I once received a prophetic word that I will be going through a narrow crevice like in a mountain and then all of a sudden there will be a clearance and I will experience wide open spaces all around me. That was about 15 years ago! If you look up the meaning of the valley of the shadow of death, it refers to a narrow gorge. (Strong’s H1516)
At that stage we were working at the church office and doing extra work to get the kids through school. We had just bought an apartment and the children were sharing a room. My lounge turned into an office during the day. I value those days as a young man. It builds character and helps you appreciate the space when it comes!
There is a clearing ahead for you. Through Christ you can do all things, and by grace through faith you are making it into the clearing. As you enter this new space, you need to shed the outer shell of guilt and condemnation. You need to shake off the thoughts and opinions of others who misunderstand your space and your grace to fill it and enjoy it.
Knowing there is a clearing ahead prophetically helps you navigate through pressured times.
The earth goes around the sun and has two different points in its orbit: perihelion and aphelion. At perihelion it actually is closer to the sun and then starts to speed up like a slingshot. At Aphelion it is at its most distant point and moving slower. There are times in your life when things slow down. Instead of asking why things aren’t happening fast, enjoy the space!
As the Earth orbits the Sun, it follows an elliptical path rather than a circular one. Also, the Sun isn’t exactly in the middle of the Earth’s orbit…rather, it is off to one side just a bit. As a result, the distance from the Earth to the Sun changes during the course of the year. It turns out that in early January our planet is over 3 million miles CLOSER to the Sun than we are in July. This point on the Earth’s orbit is called Perihelion…and we reach it about January 3-4 each year. (J Kennedy, Weather Whys)
The point is to realize where you are in your orbit in life and to find ways to enjoy the space God is giving you to live a fulfilled life.
1. Take a Spirit Breath.
After handling a pressured time in your life, you need to recover. Recovery is different for everyone. Don’t compare with others too much in this phase and allow the Lord to comfort you concerning things. You can’t enjoy the space without this recovery period. After traumatic events we have seen how you need to give people a lot of grace space. When my father in grace passed onto eternal life, it triggered new things in our lives as a couple. There was a period of aphelion to reflect and take things slowly. You define your thoughts and reform and set things in order because you have the time to do it!
When things started speeding up we could handle the new pressure, because the systems and thoughts had been set about the things to come.
When your children grow up and leave the home, you start to give attention to things left unsaid for years. When you complete a phase of work or enter retirement, old dreams resurface and regrets loom up and a tie of mourning can set in. If you understand the phase you are in, then God’s spirit can also lead you through it, because it is laying the foundation for things to come. If you are healed concerning parts of your life that you have neglected, then you can move on baggage free into this new space God has for you.
Eze 37:4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
Eze 37:5 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.
2. Enjoy the 360 view. Isa 49:18 Lift up your eyes, look around and see; All these gather together and come to you. As I live,” says the LORD, “You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament, And bind them on you as a bride does.
Isa 49:19 “For your waste and desolate places, And the land of your destruction, Will even now be too small for the inhabitants; And those who swallowed you up will be far away.
3. Explore the space at the Spirit’s pace for you.
1Ki_18:6 So they divided the land between them to enjoy it; Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
During a famine, Obadiah, who had preserved the prophets and kept them safe from jezebel, found Elijah when he went out to explore the land in search for feed for the king’s horses. The exploration triggered a reformation in the land and a defeat of the false prophets. It also signalled the end of the evil reign in the land and ushered in a new ear for the nation.
Every time we explore a new Spiritscapes of God, there is a victory in the spiritual realm awaiting you. It is not without dangers and opposition, but the Lord who answers with fire is within you and helps you and fights for you!
The space God has for you may even have giants to slay, and enemies to overcome, but rejoice for God has given you the city! Rejoice for God has given you a promised land to live in – enjoy the space and set up altars of worship throughout the land. Send out teachers throughout the land to raise up the standard of His spirit and secure successive generations of reformers who conform to the image of God’s Son Jesus Christ!
Rejoice in the space God is giving you Harvester because assuredly God has given you the land to fill the vacuum left behind by religion and traditions of men who have not said blessed is He who comes in the name of the lord and who have rejected His sent ones, His apostles who have proclaimed an end to the old and a birth of the new church in this nation. You shall surely fill this nation so fast that you will need more space!
Therefore, enjoy the space now and prepare your hearts for I have stretched you and given you capacity for growth and exponential multiplication of every sort and kind for My glory, for My Church, for My people says the Lord of hosts who does this by His Spirit in you.
