Law of Kindness

Law of Kindness
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser, Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town Live Streamed Services 24th January 2021

Pro 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

5 reasons to be Kind:
1. It reveals the wisdom and mercy of God when we speak kindly. The concept of kindness includes the idea of mercy combined with beauty and favour. It also adds reproof for wickedness but always with the balance of mercy. (Strong’s H2617 kheh’-sed)
The concept of ‘law’ can also mean: instruction and direction of a prophetic nature. When you allow the kindness of Jesus to direct your speech, it has a prophetic quality that instructs and gives spiritual legal directives to the ones receiving your words. It also helps you obey God’s precepts and statutes. (The word used for law is ‘Torah’ from Strong’s Concordance H8451.) Interesting to note, that the new covenant laws are written in our hearts and minds versus on tablets of stone. We think like our Father and we have a heart after God concerning all matters.
We have often referred to the Church as the Bride of Christ – the wise virtuous wife depicted in Proverbs. We actually represent the church in what we say wherever we are.

2. What we say carries weight. Spiritually, our words can be life forming and transformational.
Heb 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

3. People can misinterpret your intentions. With this in mind, we can be led by the Spirit in what we say and how we say it. Especially now when the world is communicating through funnelled bottlenecks of social media and over-saturated channels of email and text messages. Perhaps it is time to reflect on how we say things and what impact our words have on others.

4. Kindness is a facet of love:
1Co 13:4 Love suffers long and is kind;
On a deeper level, operating in the law of kindness shifts our communication with our loved ones and those dear to us and also presents Christ to an unsaved world that has lost its ability to be kind.

5. Jesus appears on the scene when we are kind!
Jesus said that people will know us by our fruit. Kindness is a fruit of the indwelling Spirit of God in our lives.
Tit 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,
Tit 3:2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
Tit 3:3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.
Tit 3:4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Tit 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Tit 3:6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour,
Tit 3:7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Tit 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
Tit 3:9 But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.
Getting involved in all the disputes online and in the media is often a waste of energy. Choose your fights and channel your energy. When you are led by the Spirit of God to stand up for what’s right, that’s fine. But the world often sucks one into a vortex that drains your attention and resources for causes that you really can’t affect positively. There is a lot of noise in the information age that tends to deplete all motivation and creativity.

When you operate in the law of kindness, there is another level of anointing released into the conversation. It is actually very powerful. You can afford to be kind when you have overcome. You are actually being benevolent and placing your strength under God’s control.

There are times when I operated in kindness while being treated very badly. God fought for me and His strength came through. I was vindicated and the person attacking me lost out. Think on some instances where you could have reacted badly but chose the better option to forgive and operate in the law of kindness.

Here is the law of kindness – it means you are behaving like Jesus would and that unlocks the pleasure and favour of the Father in Heaven. It releases the resources of heaven too and you have the armies of God at your disposal for that moment. Kindness is a supernatural force that the enemy always underestimates. The most powerful people I know spiritually are extremely kind and never flaunt their power. When the demons cringe in their presence everyone knows they are powerful, but they never have to say it or even try to prove it. They operate in the law of kindness and unleash the anointing of the Saviour in every situation. You can see it in people. It’s either there or it’s not.

The good news is that whatever God has is yours by birth! Ask your Father in heaven in Jesus’ name to help you develop the law of kindness in your lifestyle. It will add a dimension of power, provision, favour and the ability to overcome the direst of circumstances and enemies you may face.
