Service Type:

The Power of His Resurrection
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser, Philippians series “Christ Our Life.”
Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town, South Africa. 2nd Feb. 2025

Scripture Reading
Php 3:8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
Php 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
Php 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
Php 3:11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Here are some decisions that will release the power of Jesus’ resurrection in your life.

1. Only if you lose your life will you find it.
Mat 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Mat 16:25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Joh 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
Joh 12:25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
Joh 12:26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

2. Willingness to suffer for Jesus releases power for resurrection life.
2Co 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
2Co 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
2Co 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

3. Let go of self-righteousness and operate in right standing with God by faith in Jesus’ work on the cross.
2Co 3:9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

4. Conform to the image of Christ, death to our old nature releases resurrection into new life. Rom. 6:4

Rom 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I count all things as loss and exchange my old life for your newness of life. I let go of my old ways and self-righteous attitude and believe in your finished work on the cross to make me right with God in Jesus name. I am willing to deny myself, take up my cross daily and follow you, enduring any suffering for the Gospel with the help of the Holy Spirit, because an eternal weight of Your glory will rest on my life. Thank You that my past is buried with Christ and that you resurrect my potential and give me your power to live as a witness of your resurrection and for Your glory!

Willingness to suffer for Jesus releases power for resurrection life.
