What manner of persons ought we to be?

Peter warns believers to live holy lives as they see the day of Judgement approaching. The only safe place in the terrible times we are living in is in the holy presence of God.
The devil is going about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. If it were possible he would devour the saints one by one, but God wants us to grow in holiness so that the devil cannot touch us. If he does God will rebuke him for touching the apple of His eye.
Jesus has become our holiness and our righteousness. In other words, as we spend time in the Word of God and allow the Word to abide in us, it is Christ the Living Word. We cannot face the devil in our own strength. We need to resist tempations of the devil with the Word. We need to be full of the Word and full of the Spirit in order to progress in holy living. What manner of people should we be? 2002/09/16

14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation?as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,
