Ways in which God strengthens us

Ways in which God strengthens us

Daniel 11:2: Gabriel stood up to confirm and strengthen Daniel. On 17th April 1995 I prayed in Portland, Oregon, USA where I was confirmed as an apostle of the Lord that God would confirm and strengthen me, my family and all who relate to us.

Samson had unequal strength to any earthly man. God strengthened him.

Here are three Hebrew root words for strength:

  1. Koach – ability to

Break violence – Judges 16:30

Angelic strength – Ps 103:20

Earthly strength – gen 4:12

Ability beyond physical strength – Dan 1:4

Wealth and substance as strength – Job 6:22/ 36:19

Strength in wealth – Prov 5:10/ Ezra 2: 69

Fierce strength (cruel) – Is 13:9

  1. ‘Atsam’ – to bind up, bind fast – Is 33:15

Strength in numbers – Ps 38:19

Bodily strength – Ps 139:14

  1. ‘Azaz’- a strong wind

God gives His people strength – Ps 29:11

A strong wind divided the waters – Ex 14:21

A strong wind came on the day of Pentecost – Acts 2:1-4

Heroic heroes of David – II Sam 6:14/ Jud 5:21

Gives security – Jud 9:51

Refuge – Ps 28:7

Splendor – Hab 3:4

Brings praise – Ps 68:34

GOD GIVES US STRENGTH EQUAL TO THE TASK

Is 40:20, 31

I John 4:4

Three laws that govern all effort

  1. Self Effort (Luke 22:31-34) brings failure: Peter tried to stand in his own strength and failed
  2. Reversed Effort (Rom 7:29) brings guilt and condemnation by concentrating on the problem you enlarge it
  3. Divine Effort (James 4:7) submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you in stark terror – Eph 6:10-18 the whole armor of God – leave it to God – honestly admit that you need divine strength and ask for it

Three Greek Words for Strength

Dynamos – (Eph 1:19) ability

Kratos – (Eph 1:19) action

Exousia – (Eph 1:21) authority

We pray and ask God to open the eyes of our understanding to know the power of God that is available to us who believe. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead!
