Read through II Corinthians 8
Grace is something God bestows upon those who receive apostles in the name of an apostle. It cannot be manipulated or controlled, bought or abused. It is the work of the Spirit. The above mentioned chapter provides insights that help to understand apostolic grace and its operation in our lives.
Direct results of a church that allows apostolic ministry to operate freely:
1. Trials of affliction turn into abundance of joy!
2. Transition from deep poverty to great liberality!
3. Fellowship of ministering to the saints.
4. Give themselves first to God and then to us by the will of God.
5. God’s grace finishes the work in churches that release apostles to go.
6. Grace increases at the home base of apostolic missions.
7. Believers at apostolic home basis abound in faith.
8. They abound in utterance in the spirit and understanding.
9. They abound in knowledge and diligence to continue the work.
10. They abound in love and abound in grace.
11. They abound in sincerity.
12. Grace is released to go to other lands.
Defining the operation of grace
Jesus Christ is our Chief Apostle and example. Although he was rich yet for our sakes he became poor that we may be enriched though Him. What apostles willingly give up becomes a reservoir of grace to enrich those whom they are sent to but also a deposit of grace to those who remain behind, those who support them and pray for them.
Learn to Invest in real apostolic missions
Many people think about giving towards apostolic missions but never do. They see the value of the work being done, but just cannot get themselves to step into that realm of liberality awaiting them.
Give out of what you have. The purpose of partnerships in apostolic ministry is to bring a balance in the kingdom: you give out of your abundance to supply the needs of the people apostles are sent to. Their abundance eventually supplies your needs again. There is an equality of giving and receiving where grace abounds. All who get involved are blessed in the end in one way or another.
An apostolic team
An apostolic team is made up of those whom the churches select to travel with apostles. They need to have the same earnest care for the saints and the church of the Lord Jesus Christ and the same willingness to risk their lives for the Gospel’s sake if necessary. Their praise should be in the Gospel, what they have already done for the work of the Lord.
Administering the grace of the Lord
Apostles bring grace wherever they go. God’s grace and peace go with them. Where they are received grace and peace is administered to the glory of the Lord. No one should blame apostles for how the abundance of grace and peace they administer. They do it honestly in the sight of the Lord and men.
Developing confidence in the churches
They should be able to rely on the churches that partner with them when there is a real need to reach another part of the world and have the assurance they will not let him down. Their partnership, their love and generous giving towards apostolic missions prove their deep love for Christ.
These messengers of the churches are sent ones
They need the love and support of apostolic home base churches to go confidently with the Good News of present truth to minister to the needs of the saints in other lands.
