The Anointing Breaks the Yoke

The Anointing Breaks the Yoke
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser
Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town, Live Stream Jan 2021

I kept hearing these words in my spirit continually and I realized the Holy Spirit is teaching me something.

There are areas of life that never seem to come right. We work and strive to overcome in that area and keep on failing. The main reason is that we are not applying the anointing that is within us by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
We discussed anointing before and keep on reminding believers to use it. I feel led strongly to show you how to apply the anointing oil in your life and ministry like never before.
What is a yoke?
More specifically, what yoke are you carrying that is not designed for you? You may think: “Well Things just worked out this way. I just have to accept my yoke.”
There is a difference between a yoke of oppression and a cross you carry for the sake of the Gospel. Jesus said:
Mat 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Mat 11:30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

I read in a book the other day: “The rules have changed, but you are still playing according to the old rules!” That is so true for religion too. We have a New Covenant of existence to explore but if you explore it with the old rules it closes the access points to God’s grace and glory every time.
Things have changed in the world forever. If you still try to seek provision and favour in the ways that used to work, it will have limited success. However, if you open your eyes and accept the fact that nothing will ever be the same as before, you start to see new opportunities.
Pining away for what was lost is nostalgic for a moment, but may have an adverse effect on your creativity and drive for the future. Bob Dylan sings: “I’m gonna change my way on thinkin’, I’m gonna find a different set of rules.” The New Covenant is a totally different operating system.
Your own set of rules makes your world smaller and smaller and excludes anyone else from relating to you. Often those relationships are what God has sent into your life to expand your thinking.
Anointing is like a flow of oil. It is smooth and in a car’s engine the oil lubricates the parts and causes the car to travel faster. Anointing not only breaks the yoke but speeds up the processes of God in your life.

With this in mind, let’s identify different types of yoke that the anointing can break today!

1. False expectations – when you are not operating according to your own measure of faith, you have an estimation of yourself that is unfair. It places pressure on you that causes a different state to mind and even health. Plan in pencil and allow the anointing inside you to teach concerning all things. Stop comparing yourself with others and start an inward journey of faith that releases you to do even more with less pressure. Scriptures to apply:

1Jn_2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

2. Oppressive feelings of anxiety and depression.
Pro_12:25 Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. The anointing will remind you of all the good words God has given you either through people, or in prayers. Pull out the prophecies and print them out – put them on your wall where you can see it. Confess it over yourself and speak it out in the atmosphere of your home. Nice and loud so you ears can hear it and faith can come from the hearing and hearing of the Word. I have a few such scriptures up at places I frequent in the home. Like Isaiah 44:26
Isa 44:26 Who confirms the word of His servant, And performs the counsel of His messengers; Who says to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be inhabited,’ To the cities of Judah, ‘You shall be built,’ And I will raise up her waste places;

3. Hopelessness. Zec 9:12 Return to the stronghold, You prisoners of hope. Even today I declare That I will restore double to you.

4. Guilt and condemnation. The spirit of religion works this one in your soul area and prevents the liberty of the saints. It is a false anointing – when you think you are better than others. The old covenant has a limited glory because it works through condemning people because of sin. The New covenant exceeds the Old ways because it releases people into the liberty of being led by the Holy Spirit and they can work out their salvation with fear and trembling. The laws are written in their hearts and minds versus on tablets of external stone. Pray through this scripture to help you get out of condemnation:
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

5. Manipulation and control. The spirit of manipulation and control is rife in church circles where Jesus is not the Head of the Church and centre of all activity and operations/. We have de-centralized our church and it has grown. We have de-centralized the management of our church network and honoured the autonomy of the churches in Harvester and the network is thriving. We still have leaders, but they work at getting people to see the centre in all they do. If you really have Jesus in mind when you attempt a task, you are led by the Spirit of God and it synergizes with everyone else. If the kingdom values of Jesus are the operating system of your ministry and business and family life, there will be peace and joy and righteousness. See Matt. 6:33; Romans
Eph 4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

6. Despair and suicidal tendencies. Apostle Paul experienced all that life and the devil could throw at him and listen to what he says: “2Co 4:8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;”

7. Physical oppression is disease and fever. Here is an account of how God used apostle Paul in the gift of and anointing of healing:
Act 28:7 In that region there was an estate of the leading citizen of the island, whose name was Publius, who received us and entertained us courteously for three days.
Act 28:8 And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him.
Act 28:9 So when this was done, the rest of those on the island who had diseases also came and were healed.
Act 28:10 They also honored us in many ways; and when we departed, they provided such things as were necessary.
The same God can use you too today! The anointing in you is the same anointing in that the believers in the Bile had to draw on in times of need.

8. Financial choking. Don’t let the cares of the world choke the word of God in you. The cares of this life, anxieties, the desires for other things creeping in are the weeds that choke the seed of faith sown through preaching and teaching in your life.

Mar 4:18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word,
Mar 4:19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Mar 4:20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

9. Sin can cause oppression.
An interesting passage in the book of Revelation rings truer for us today: Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
Rev 18:5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
The Worldly system that we live in and the secular humanistic way of thinking creeps into all we do. Coming out from Babylon means we do not allow the world to squeeze us into its mould, but we break the mould and live out the calling and purpose God has for us with a new standard of living. Just because others do it a certain way doesn’t make it right! When the enemy rushes in like a flood the Spirit of God raises up a standard against it.

10. Iniquity can cause you to work and never see any results. If you study “The Blessings of Submission” with us at Miracle Bible Training Centre, you will see that there are subtle nuances of meanings that will open up the riches of God’s anointing through an understanding and application of Godly submission on all levels of life. The opposite of submission is insubordination and it has consequences. Once such consequence is working and labouring to the point of exhaustion and not seeing the results!
Another word for iniquity, is amal, meaning labour in the sense of effort and exhaustion that still doesn’t accomplish anything. Psalm 127 speaks of labouring in vain when the Lord is not involved in the building process.

11. Dead works in serving God can drive you and everyone around you crazy! Martha! Martha! Mary sat down when Jesus was teaching, but Mary kept on serving and scurrying around. There is a time for everything. Mary had helped previously, but the time came to listen and sit quietly at the Master’s feet, she chose the ‘best part’. Martha had to learn when to potter and stay busy and when to come to rest and pay attention to Jesus. There is a Martha and Mary attitude at war in everyone! Let the anointing break that yoke of restlessness and choose what’s best for the moment by the Spirit of God in you!
Luk 10:38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
Luk 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.
Luk 10:40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
Luk 10:41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.
Luk 10:42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

What one thing is needed in your life today? As you were listening the anointing inside of you, that Holy Spirit that fills you, is teaching what to let go of now. Allow the Lord to let His anointing flow through you and break that yoke forever right now in Jesus’ name! Be free! Thank Him! Praise Him and stay free!
