Promises for Spirit-Filled Believers

In Christ Jesus the promises of the Old Testament are 'Yes!' and in Him 'Amen!'. In other words, this passage from Isaiah becomes accessible to Spirit-filled believers today. Read on to download your inherritance! I ministered on this passage as a prophectic word for Harvester Cape Town on Sunday, but I know that there are other movements in the greater body of Christ, tapping into similar frequencies. Enjoy!Promises for Spirit Filled Believers
By Apostle Aje Pelser,
Preached at Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town, 30th Sept. 2007.

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 61:3-9
that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Isa 61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Isa 61:5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
Isa 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
Isa 61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
Isa 61:8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Isa 61:9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

There is a passage of scripture that is often overlooked in this part of Isaiah’s prophecy, because the fulfilment of Jesus’ ministry precedes it. However, the context of this obscure passage only strengthens the source of the blessings and promises for spirit-filled believers who access the glorious riches in Christ Jesus for today.

The Promises:

Become trees of righteousness!
We are the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified. We know that righteousness is a gift from God through faith in Christ’s work on the cross. Being right with God is an amazing concept that releases God’s power and divine nature into our situation. Righteousness is a force that changes our character and breaks off sin.
See also Daniel 4:27.

Rebuild the Ancient Ruins; repair ruined cities; desolations of many generations.
• There is an anointing for rebuilding released through accessing God’s grace in this verse of scripture.
• Once you believe that God is using you to rebuild and repair what the devil has ruined, your life takes on a new meaning and you face problems with a new energy. Your own troubles and needs become less significant and the Divine Purposes become your focus.
• You start seeking how you can fulfil this promise and build for God, co-labouring with Jesus Christ to build His church, restore the tabernacle of David that has been lying in ruins like apostle James;
• rebuilding the defensive walls to protect a city like Nehemiah;
• laying the foundations for a new temple restoring worship in spirit and in truth for your generation like Ezra; Haggai and Zechariah with Joshua and Zerubabbel.
• Facing tremendous odds and lack of initial results while seeing the fulfilment of God’s promises afar off, embracing them by faith and confessing that we are just pilgrims in this earth, declaring that we seek a homeland that will remain forever.
• Q: Which desolations are we raising up?
• Q: What has been lost from previous Christian movements?
• Q: What legacy of faith can we dig up and recover for our generation?
• Q: What legacy can we leave behind for the next generation to build upon?

Strangers and sons of foreigners will work with us…
God will send helpers from other countries to help us till the earth and feed the flocks. Taken spiritually, this means that other nations or even ministries will send their best to minister with us and for us in fulfilment of God’s promises over this movement.

You shall be named Priests of the Lord and Servants of our God.
• There is a new order of Priesthood through Christ Jesus, according to the order of Melchizedek. (See apostle Andre’s sermons on the topic of Melchizedek.)
• We are called “Kings and Priests unto our God”
• We are a royal priesthood, chosen to rule and to reign with the Son of God
• We called to be vessels of honour, washed of uncleanness with His blood, purged with hyssop…
• We want to dwell in the house of the Lord forever, like David, who was both a king and a ministering priest through accurate worship in spirit and in truth.
• Jesus shows us how to be a servant, He humbled Himself and became obedient even to the death of the cross.

Eat the riches of the Gentiles; receive double honour; in their land possess double; everlasting joy!
• This a double portion of blessing reserved for those who allow the Spirit of God to work in and through them.
• We have seen God’s blessings, but now God gives us double!
• We have prayed for land and received from His hand, now we will possess double!
• We have been shamed through false accusation and slander, but now we will receive double honour! Praise God!

The Lord’s Standards are raised; He directs our work in truth; His covenant with us is everlasting!
• God loves justice and hates robbery for burnt offerings: this means that He is searching for people who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth, with a sincere heart.
• That’s why He wishes to direct our work in truth.
• The everlasting covenant He makes with us affects generations to come.
• Our descendants, both physical and spiritual, will be known amongst unbelievers, beyond church circles.
• People will acknowledge us because of God’s Covenant and say: “This is the posterity that the Lord has blessed!”
• As Joseph went ahead to preserve a posterity for his brothers which became a mighty nation, so this company of apostolic people have pioneered a posterity for Christianity and this church will become a mighty nation in the earth, to the glory of God through Christ Jesus. Amen.
