Many aspire but few obtain

Many aspire but few obtain

Preached by Apostle Andre Pelser

Godly success is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, but some prefer not to pay the price to obtain it. We all have the same Bible, the same Lord and Holy Spirit so there is an open invitation to all to enjoy godly success in life. I want to give you some keys to godly success to inspire you to fulfill your godly potential in Christ Jesus. Once you know your position and inheritance as a child of God, all you have to do is to meet the required conditions in order to obtain what God has in store for you.

To go on with the Lord, you must leave something behind. Sometimes you have to leave family members or close friends behind, because they do not want to go on with the Lord. They are not committed to go on to higher things and deeper things. In fact they drag you down. Their problems weigh you down. They are not willing to pay the price to attain to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

In the army there are different ranks: corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and major all the way to general. Some soldiers are happy just to remain privates but others go on to become officers. It is their choice.

It is the same in the spirit realm and the things of God.

Here are some keys to obtaining the best that God has for you:

  1. Treasure the nuggets of truth that come your way. I always have a notebook with me to jot down what I receive in the spirit. No one can steal it from me. Then I have a simple filing system to keep it so that I can refer to it whenever I need to.
  2. Expect to win the race you are in. Do not just plan to get by. Plan to be successful. The devil is a failure. His nature is that of a defeated foe. It is easy to quit. Study is hard work. But studying the Word of God is the only way to get to know the will of God. Once you know the will of God you can pray confidently because you know God hears you when you pray!
  3. You can go as far as you want to go – there are no limits! Don’t ever settle for less. Do not become a career private! Become a general! Age does not matter in the spirit realm. Caleb and Joshua said, ‘as our days are so is our strength!’ They went to war at the age of 80! And they won the battle!
  4. Feed on the Word of God and exercise your physical body regularly. Eat what suits your blood type! Take care of yourself as good as you possibly can and trust God to do the rest.
  5. Overcome stumbling blocks in your life. Overcome sin, bad habits, blaming others, bitterness, unforgiveness, depression, offences and laziness, one by one!
  6. Stay hungry for the things of God. Stay hungry for the Word and for prayer. Stay hungry for the presence of God and for fellowship with saints. Stay hungry to worship and praise the Lord with other believers. Stay hungry to win souls and to support missions.
  7. God says in Isaiah 52:13: ‘My servant shall succeed and be highly honored!’
  8. Don’t let the devil cheat you with his lies. The truth shall prevail. The Holy Spirit leads you into all truth and shows you things to come.
  9. Grow to maturity as a believer, no longer tossed to and fro by false doctrines.

When Nola and I went to Australia I went to see Reinhard Bonnke and asked him to tell me something before we go. He said, ‘continually break the snail shell in your thinking and have a fierce determination to succeed!’ I kept those two sayings in my heart of hearts all these years and operated accordingly. Now I give it to you as well.

Here’s a pattern for godly success: desire, discipline, dedication and determination.

May God bless and keep you always

May your wishes all come true

May always do for others

And may others do for you

May you build a stairway to the stars

And climb on every wrung

And may you stay

Forever young
