Kingdom Peace

It is important that you understand that God's Kingdom is made up out of righteousness, peace and joy. And it makes you think about what righteousness is, what peace is and what joy is.

Philippians 4: 6-9 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you."

Here Paul is showing them something. He has taught them some things and wants them to continue in them and the God of peace will be with them. If you have a leader in whichever church you are from, and there is something of God in what they are saying, do that thing. Listen to what they say, because God has set them there as messengers for you. God wants to be the God of peace for you. If you don't do what you have learned from those leaders God places in your life then you are going to lack that peace. It is a hard thing for a human being to admit that God puts another human being there for him to draw from. A lot of the things I know about business, church, ministry, life, just basic life skills, I have learned from the Apostles and Prophets, Elders, the businessmen in the church. They say and do things that blesses me and instructs me. If you just listen there is riches here. You learn so much. It takes a bit of self denial, but if you are wise you will increase learning.

"Eirene" means exemption from the rage and havoc of war; a state of national tranquility; your nation, your country is at peace; peace between individuals; harmony or concord. Your peace also means security; safety; prosperity; peace and harmony; make and keep things safely and prosperous; it also speaks of a tranquil state of the soul assured of its salvation in Jesus Christ. It means fearing nothing from God and being content with your earthly lot, whatever it is.

When the Hebrew said Shalom, meaning it is a state of being; prosperity; safety; it speaks of the Messiah's peace; the peace that the Prince of Peace brings; it is the way that leads to peace. Jesus is your way to peace. People try and find peace in different ways, but there is a way into peace, and Jesus is the way into peace. If you acknowledge Him in all your ways He will direct your paths.

When you are no longer scared of dying, there is a peace that sets in. The devil keeps you in bondage through fear of death. If you are not scared of death anymore, how can you be scared of anything? Then you'll find peace.

If you had to put all of your sufferings in packages on a table or stage, mix it, you will still choose your package above whatever else is on the stage or table. If you had to suffer what someone else had to suffer to get to where they are today, and you compare it to what you had to suffer, you will take your package. His yoke fits you. There are somethings you are called to suffer. Identify those things and tackle it with God. Go through them and let them work righteousness, let them work out things that shouldn't be there. When you suffer things, God brings issues to the surface and then you start dealing with them. if you didn't suffer you will not have dealt with it. God allows suffering in our lives.

He wants to give you peace. One of the ways to peace is to pray with supplication and thanksgiving. We all request things from God, but it says 1. be anxious for nothing, then with prayers and supplications and thanksgiving, make your request know to God. It is a process. There are different kinds of prayers. There is a prayer of faith which you get when you have a gift of faith. It is not just your everyday faith, it is a higher level that comes quickly for a specific reason. That is a prayer of faith. All of a sudden you have faith to pray for something that you have been praying for for years. You get the prayer of thanksgiving. It is good to give thanks in prayer, sometimes we forget to give thanks in our prayers. We get so upset for the things we didn't have this month that we forget all the other things that God has done during the month. The glass is 99% full, not 1% empty. See how much God has done and recognize that God owes you nothing. He has already given you everything. If your dad is God, what more do you want? If your dad is the King, why do you worry? He has given you a vineyard, go till it, go work in it, go use what He has given you. You got His favour, you've got His Word, you've got His decrees, you've got His angles guarding you. What else do we want? Because we don't have the right image of our father, we don't access God. We always want to things by ourselves. You strife all your life till you are dead, you could have been so much more and what you have made is so little compared to what God wanted to give you.

The kind of peace God gives keeps our hearts and our minds. The word keep is "phroureo," meaning to keep with a garrison. Just picture all these Roman guards, this army marching. I don't want just one security guard sitting in a cubicle. God does not want to give you just one security guard. Our concept of safety is ridiculous. God has to deliver us from our small thinking of safety. He wants to give you a garrison, an army. That is so much better then one security guard sitting in a cubicle, who hides because he is scared. You got to open your eyes to see the army, to see what God gives you. God protects you by a military guard.

Phroureo means to watch over you; guard you; to preserve you for the attainment of something. God is preserving your life. If He takes His hand off of your life you will wither away like a flower in the field. God preserves you, but it does not mean that you will go through things, He preserves you through it. That is peace. Isn't peace that you can be calm in a storm? Peace means that you are going through things, but you have the Prince of Peace in your boat. When Jesus was laying His head on that leather pillow in the boat... in those days there was a pillow in the boat which was the captain's pillow, a leather pillow so that he can lay his head on it. So Jesus was saying that He is the captain of the ship by laying His head on the pillow. When the storms and the winds came, the disciples got anxious because of the storm. When Jesus awoke He rebuke the storm. The peace within Him spilled over into the ocean. He already had peace in the storm and then He let it out. You have the Prince of Peace in you, you have the Kingdom of peace inside of you. The storms in your life, you must let it out into that situation. That is kingdom peace. You can walk into a situation you have peace. Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called sons of God.

He will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. That word through means a fixed position; in place time and state; the instrumentality of Christ; He will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. When you are fixed in Christ, that is the channel through which peace flows to you. That is the way God protects you. That is the way you are garrisoned with peace. When you are fixed in Him. When you are fixed in a church of believers, and you understand your function, there is a place of peace you arrive to that protects no matter what. Through Jesus Christ He will garrison your hearts and minds and He will give you peace that passes understanding.
