How we address the future

Apostle Andre Pelser

Life, as we know it, is changing completely. Everything is changing. It's not going to be the same anymore, but in Christ we are safe.
The disintegrating of banks and economies of nations are clear signs that life as we have lived it until now will never be the same again. That is why we need to be able to hear from God more in our daily situation, in our family, and for our children's sake. The enemy is going about as a roaring lion, seeing whom he can devour. We need to know what to say and what to do in our personal lives.
We need to know what God wants to say. We can't play church, it's got to be God speaking to us. It's desperate times. It's no use just acting as if we are christians, we need to really be. In our business dealings, we believe that christians will prosper when everyone else is not. We will be healthy when the world is sick.

People make detrimental decisions even when knowing how that decision could harm others. An example is the powder milk instance in China. They diluted the products and added melamine (which is plastic) to make it look the same, knowing all the while that it is poisonous. And all this just for more money.
80% of the sky scraper buildings in Seoul are built with inferior building materials. This was done  so that the builders could build more, but if there is a slight tremor 80% of all the sky scrapers in Seoul will collapse. This has been scientifically proven.
There are frightening things that are coming over the earth. Diseases that are increasing etc.

The media that tells us of these things, is designed to build fear into us. Don't listen too much, and don't read too much. Read the Bible, study the word. We need to get our focus right.
Things are changing, and life is not going to be the same anymore. We won't be able to do things the way that we have done it. There are huge changes coming and we have got to hear from God. Fortunately we can.

There used to be song with the ending: I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future. It's a secret known only to Him. Neither the Old or New Testament tries predict the future, because christianity is not fortune telling.
We don't live by fortune telling. Don't read the star sign columns! Don't even dare to look at it! People get addicted to that. God doesn't want us to look to fortune tellers. He hates it, because there are elements of truth, but much lies in it. He is a jealous God; He wants us to only listen to Him.
We are not called to walk by fortune telling, we are called to walk by faith! Instead of trying to look into the future, we look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Prophecy has an element of fore-telling in it, but it is meant to encourage, comfort and exhort God's people rather than lay out the future in great detail.
Even the book of Revelation given to John, has to be read by faith, because there are parts that do not fully comprehend.
Instead of trying to know the future, our emphasis is on knowing God. This is eternal life – Jn 17:3. We don't know the hour of Jesus' return, but we live as if He is returning any moment – Mt 24.
We don't know what may happen to us in the future, but we are sure of this one thing: our Lord God loves us – Jn 21:15.
We only know the future in part, therefore our prophecies about the future are in part – 1 Cor 13.
We can know the love of Christ in great detail – Eph 3:9, but we cannot know the future like that.
We must concentrate on what God allows us to know, so that Christ can dwell in our hearts by faith.
2 Tim 1:12 – we know whom we have believed, and we are persuaded that He is able to keep that which we have committed to Him until He returns. What have you committed to Him? He can keep you safe. He can keep you pure. He can keep you holy. He can preserve you blameless, through all the temptations and all the trials. He is able to do that! You have to confess it believe it.

1 Jn 5:19 – we know that we are of God.
1 Jn 2:19 – the anointing of the Holy Spirit teaches us all the things that we need to know. You don't need to know everything. You just need to know what you need to know. God is not going to tell you everything that you want to know, but He will tell you everything that you need to know. “I'll supply all your needs”. He does not supply all your wants.
Don't try to give people your opinion of why you think something happened. People don't need opinions in a time of grief, they only need God's word.

The reason why we walk by faith, and not by sight or fortune telling, is because knowledge puffs up, but love edifies – 1 Cor 8.
Knowledge, even prophecies may cease, but love never fails – 1 Cor 13.

What we do know is:
We know the love of Christ passes knowledge.
We know the peace of God that passes knowledge – Phil 4:6.
We know the things of God that He reveals to us – 1 Cor 2:11.
We have the Spirit of prophecy which is the Spirit of Christ – Rev 19.
The holy scriptures are prophetic.
The Spirit of God is the Spirit of prophecy.
Our sons and daughters prophecy – Num 11:25.
We desire earnestly to prophecy so that we may edify the body of Christ – 1 Cor 14:39.

Prophecy to your family. Prophecy to each other. Prophecy to your bank account. You have got the Spirit of prophecy, so use it. Don't just speak what you see. Don't let your five senses dominate your life. You have to prophecy out of the invisible realm, to change the things which are visible.

The wise shall become depressed. There is no hope. The politicians have no answers. It's hopeless out there. The darker it gets, the more the children of God will shine. The time will come when they will listen. The time will come when they will have a hunger for God's word, and you'd better have it. The time will come when the ones that despise and mock you now will want to know how you make it, and how you survive. Then you need to be gracious enough to be able to share it accurately.

We receive a prophet in the name of prophet and we receive a prophet's reward. What is that? Prophecy.
We have the books of the law and the books of the prophets. They all refer to Jesus Christ, and it was all fulfilled in Him. Our purpose is not to reveal the future, but the Son of God – Jesus Christ! That He might be revealed through us, a many membered body of Christ, the church – Gal 1.
Things which are hidden belong to God, but things which are revealed belong to us – Deut 29. If He has revealed something to you, it belongs to you. No one can take away the things that have been revealed to you. The thing is that you need to be sure about what you know, to have assurance.
He reveals His glory to us.
The Lord Jesus is revealed to us even though we cannot see Him – 2 Thess 1.

The lawless one will be revealed – 2 Thess 2. It is already in the earth. The spirit of the anti-christ is lawless, anarchy, people doing what they want, speaking like they want to. They don't want laws anymore. They don't want religion, Christ, the bible, they don't want anyone to tell them what to do with their lives, so that they can be free to sin as they want to. This is the spirit of the anti-christ already in the world. People have stopped obeying laws, and it's now a dangerous society. The world has gone mad. That is why we need to change the way we think and the way we operate.
