Great Grace Memorandum

Here are the answers to the questions in the Assignment on Grace.Grace Memorandum
Assignment:
1. Read through Acts Chapters 3-5.

2. What miraculous event had caused this stir amongst religious leaders?
Lame man healed by faith in the Name of Jesus; through the hands of Peter and John.

3. Which Old Testament quotation was fulfilled in Acts chapter 4:25?
Psalm 2; by David the prophet.

4. What relevance does this quote have for us in the apostolic reformation?
This prophecy is still relevant to all churches that are fulfilling scripture in the face of adversity in any part of the world.

5. Paraphrase the apostolic prayer that was triggered through the fulfilment of prophecy.
Something like:
Lord you are the God who made everything, who spoke through David prophetically saying the people plot against Your Son Jesus; together with Herod and Pilate the people came against Your Son as you allowed and as you planned before time to fulfil Your redemption plan. We recognise therefore that in persecuting us, they are persecuting You.
Look at how they threaten us Lord and give us courage to speak Your Word; back us up with Your healing hand and give us miracles to follow up what You tell us to say, so that Jesus can get the credit.

6. Fill in the missing words of this apostolic prayer of the church:
“Look at their threats”
“Grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak your Word.”
“Stretch forth Your hand to heal; and that signs & wonders be done by the name of Your holy child Jesus.”

7. What was the immediate three-fold response from the Holy Spirit as they finished praying?
The place where they had prayed was shaken.
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit.
They received the boldness they had asked for in the prayer and spoke the Word of God boldly.

8. Acts 4:33, 34 – mention the further effect of such united and scripturally accurate prayer.
Believers were of one heart and soul.
They had all things in common, no one lacked anything.
Powerful witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus by the apostles.
Great grace was on the church.
People willingly sacrificed financially for sake of the Gospel.
