God Moves with JOY

Ways to understand how God moves.
Introduction
From the beginning, I have been fascinated by supernatural visions. I painted the four faces when I was twenty years old. The paintings have watched over the work of building the house of the Lord recently. They have moved around with the church from one venue to the next and survived! What has become apparent to me is the the different characters of God revealed through the beings that accompany every move He makes.
I once heard this in my Spirit: “The body is subject to much movement to show it is alive.” When we speak of revival in the body of Christ, it sparks new movement. The types of movements may have similarities with what has gone before and the foundational truths are the same, but the outworking in a new environment and with new people is different. God is infinite in complexity, yet His directives are simple enough for a child to understand.
When we are studying angelic beings and heavenly visions, keep this in mind:
“Don’t focus on the wheels within wheels, understand that they accompany the movement of God.” The Holy Spirit always brings us into alignment with Jesus and the Father.
Four Faces
10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle. 11 Thus were their faces.
Reference from Revelation where John saw the same Cherubim:
Collaboration
Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies.
ONE direction
12 And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went.
Fire
13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning. 14 And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.
Wheels within wheels
15 Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces. 16 The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel. 17 When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went.
The exact center of a revolving wheel is called the hub. Inside this hub are the wheel bearings, which allow the wheel to spin freely on the stationary axle with minimal friction. The lubricant for the wheel bearings refers to the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit that allows many visions to move in direction. Each ‘eye’ releasing a light that shines the way, yet with a common centre of seeing Christ formed in people.
Eyes of Vision and Illumination
I saw something in meditations once – that the eyes were lights shining outwards. Each eye reveals a part of God’s glory. The illumination that comes from moving with God is revealed. Many eyes seeing together.
18 “As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them. 19 When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.”
Led by the Spirit
20 Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, for the spirit of the [d]living creatures was in the wheels. 21 When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the [e]living creatures was in the wheels.
WINGS release the Noise of an Army, Many Waters, Voice of the Almighty
22 The likeness of the [f]firmament above the heads of the [g]living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. 23 And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body. 24 When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings. 25 A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings.
The Main Focus is Jesus – glory of the Lord
26 And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. 27 Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. 28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.
Wheel in Hebrew is H212 ‘ôphân ‘ôphân (Pronounced: o-fawn’, o-fawn’)
From an unused root meaning to revolve; a wheel: – wheel. All our thoughts and activities revolve around Jesus Christ the centre, the Head of the Church.
Jesus Rejoiced in the Spirit!
When Jesus twirled in a dance as the disciples came back and reported that the Lord worked with them with signs and wonders and demons were subject to His name, Jesus realized that the wheels for the establishment of His kingdom on earth and the building of His eternal Church were in motion. He synchronized with the wheels Ezekial saw. Or conversely, he released their motion through His disciples!
Luke 10:21 “In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.”
Rejoiced G21 agalliaō (pronounced: ag-al-lee-ah’-o)
From ἄγαν agan (much) and G242; properly to jump for joy, that is, exult: – be (exceeding) glad, with exceeding joy, rejoice (greatly).
Habbakuk
Spin for Joy! Nancy Ruegg notes:
The prophet Habakkuk of Old Testament times wrote about just such a response. I love the way Eugene Peterson paraphrased the verse: “I’m turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God” (Habakkuk 3:18 MSG). Sounds like the prophet received the answer to a heartfelt prayer or perhaps a miracle had occurred.
In response God was about to provide a means of saving his people—not from the ruin of their city—but from the ruin of their souls. He would allow the invasion and a period of captivity in a foreign culture 900 miles away (Isaiah 39:5-8; Jeremiah 25:1-11).
By the end of his book, however, the prophet’s doubts had turned to faith and he declared—in the face of calamity–“Yet I will celebrate the Lord. I will rejoice in the God of my salvation” (3:18 NIV).
The word rejoice in this verse is ‘alaz’ in the original Hebrew, and means to “spin around for joy.”
Joy H1523 gı̂yl gûl (pronounced: gheel, gool)
A primitive root; properly to spin around (under the influence of any violent emotion), that is, usually rejoice, or (as cringing) fear: – be glad, joy, be joyful, rejoice.
David
2Sa 6:16 Now as the ark of the LORD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.
Fire in the wheels
10 And I looked, and there in the firmament[a] that was above the head of the cherubim, there appeared something like a sapphire stone, having the appearance of the likeness of a throne. 2 Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, “Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and scatter them over the city.” And he went in as I watched.
3 Now the cherubim were standing on the [b]south side of the [c]temple when the man went in, and the cloud filled the inner court. 4 Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the [d]temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord’s glory. 5
And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court, like the voice of Almighty God when He speaks.
6 Then it happened, when He commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, “Take fire from among the wheels, from among the cherubim,” that he went in and stood beside the wheels. 7 And the cherub stretched out his hand from among the cherubim to the fire that was among the cherubim, and took some of it and put it into the hands of the man clothed with linen, who took it and went out. 8 The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man’s hand under their wings.
Key points:
- God’s presence puts things in motion.
- Angels are expressions of His will.
- The wheels are a bit of a mystery – but they have eyes. I saw something in meditations once – that the eyes were lights shining outwards. Each eye reveals a part of God’s glory. The illumination that comes from moving with God is revealed. Many eyes seeing together.
- The spirit of the creatures are in the wheels – a further expression of God’s Spirit.
- What is interesting is that all the wheels and cherubim move as one in the same direction. They are moving to and fro individually but collectively move as the Lord directs.
- The hovering around the throne of God interests me. Thrones speak of identity and governmental authority.
- Energy flames that move. The bouncing of a spiritual entity of light is like a flame of fire. Think of the flames of fire at the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts.
