God’s great ability

Passage: Daniel 6:20-28

Daniel 6:20 – 28
20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? 21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever. 22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. 23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God. 24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. 26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end. 27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the powerd of the lions. 28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

The King that threw Daniel into the lion’s den asked him the next morning: ‘was your God able to deliver you from the power of the lions?’ And Daniel replied: ‘may the king live forever! My God whom I continually serve sent His angel to shut the mouths of the lions. They did me no harm.’ Then the king announced that Daniel’s God is the true God and that all nations should serve Him!
Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:20, 21
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Daniel believed His God in the face of all odds. He trusted His God rather than fearing the wrath of man. Daniel fulfilled the purpose of God in his life even though it led through a lion’s den. The fact that he was threatened with being thrown into the lion’s den could not change Daniel’s commitment.
Is the God you continually serve also able to deliver you from your predicament? Yes, He is! He is the same today, yesterday and forever! What He did for Daniel He can do for you!
God’s great ability is available to all who believe in Him. Your faith in Jesus Christ is the personal linked with an unlimited God. He wants to reveal His great ability to you and to me!
God’s ability to get things done is astonishing! He made the universe and all that is in it and He made you and me. He knows how to make a way through the wilderness and through the Red Sea. He can rain down Manna from heaven to feed a nation for 40 years and make water flow from a rock.
Let us examine some of the manifestations of God’s great ability as seen in Scripture so that faith will rise up in our hearts that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or expect!
Manifestations of God’s great ability:
Romans 4:21
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
He is able to create something out of nothing simply by speaking a word
He is able to control nature because He is in charge
He is able to deliver anyone who trusts in Him
He is able to perform His promises
He is able to do more than we can even think or ask
He is able to supply abundance of joy
He gives eternal life
His grace is sufficient for you
His power is great towards us
He is able to engrave you into the Vine
He is able to make you stand firm in the face of all adversity
He is able to subdue all things
He is able to save to the uttermost
He is able to keep you from falling
He is able to raise you up
God’s great ability and power is at work in all those who believe – Ephesians 1:19 – 21.
Zachariah 4:6: Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord!
By faith in Christ Jesus you have a personal link to God’s great ability!
It is available right now – if you believe!
When the Holy Spirit comes upon you God gives you divine ability as well. The Greek word for ability is ‘dunamis’. It is like a dynamo on the inside.
So you can write down what you want to do and start doing it while trusting in God to help you. What are you uniquely gifted or talented to do? Your gift will make room for you. God has given you the ability to do it. You have the divine ability to get things done!
Hope deferred makes the heart sick and causes depression. By just talking about something all the time and never doing it, you defer your hope. The sluggard dies of hunger because he is too lazy to take the food from the plate to his mouth.
We are able to do all things through Christ who strengthens us continually! (Philippians 4:13)
Let the dynamo of God’s ability loose in your life! Release it by faith. Believe you receive power when the Holy Spirit is come upon you!
