Double Portion
By Apostle Aje Pelser

Preached at Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town

Signs that we are in the double portion phase of this move of God.

Signs of the double portion from the life of Job
1. Repentance from Old Perspectives
Job made his confession to God and repents to change his perspective on things. Our apostolic perspective on life that resulted from changes in thinking and cleansing through repentance is a sign that we are in the double portion phase of this move.

Job 42:1 Then Job answered the LORD and said:
Job 42:2 “I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.
Job 42:3 You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
Job 42:4 Listen, please, and let me speak; You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’
Job 42:5 “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.
Job 42:6 Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.”

2. Rebuke of the enemy and favour from the Lord on us
God has rebuked those who called themselves ‘friends’ but accused us instead when we went through hardship for the sake of the Gospel. People are contacting us and they are repenting telling us that God has rebuked them for opposing us. Signs that we are in the double portion phase of this ministry. God will even make your enemies to be your friends.

Pro 16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Job 42:7 And so it was, after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, that the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.
Job 42:8 Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.”
Job 42:9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the LORD commanded them; for the LORD had accepted Job.

3. Restoration of the Double Portion
God has restored our losses and blessed us with a great harvest,
Opened new double doors opening up into unchartered spiritual territory.
God is doubling our influence in nations,
God is doubling the churches and Bible Colleges in Harvester International Ministries,
God is doubling members in churches,
God is doubling the students in Bible cells,
God is doubling the youth cells
God is doubling the children in this move and children in church,
God is doubling the finances of the church and the finances of the people who seek to establish His covenant,
God is doubling our efforts in missions to other countries,
God is doubling our ability to effort to follow up missions and establish Kingdom strongholds in enemy territories.

We are experiencing the beginnings of the double portion already! Praise the Lord – open your eyes and receive this word that God gave Job.

Job 42:10 And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Job 42:11 Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been his acquaintances before, came to him and ate food with him in his house; and they consoled him and comforted him for all the adversity that the LORD had brought upon him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and each a ring of gold.
Job 42:12 Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.
Job 42:13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.
Job 42:14 And he called the name of the first Jemimah , the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.
Job 42:15 In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
Job 42:16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations.
Job 42:17 So Job died, old and full of days.

The Key here is to pray for your friends and those who treat you spitefully, bless those who curse and forgive those who hold things against you even if you are innocent. This releases the double portion.
The idea of prayer here:
“asking someone with more power and wisdom to intervene in behalf of the one praying.” (Strong’s #6419: To pray, entreat, intercede, make supplication. Prayer as intercession.)

His daughter’s names also have a blessing contained in their names:

Keren-happuch = “horn of antimony” Brown Driver Briggs’ H7163

1) one of the daughters of Job born after his trial

. Job’s reference to metals “taken from the earth” (Job 28:2) seems to indicate a firsthand knowledge of mine operations. The smelting of ores was known apparently in very ancient times. Antimony. A hard mineral, metallic gray in color, usually classed as a metal. In Bible times antimony was ground into a fine black powder, moistened with oil or water, and used as eyepaint to accent the eyelashes and make them appear larger (Jer. 4:30) The material that David furnished for the Temple included antimony. This was mixed with resin and used as a setting for gems (1 Chr. 29:2, NRSV).

Kezia = “cassia” [Brown Driver Briggs’ Hebrew names H7103]

the 2nd of the daughters born to Job after his trial
Cassia. A plant with a flavor and aroma similar to cinnamon, but considered inferior. Some believe it could be the Indian perfume called orris. Moses included cassia in the anointing oil (Ex. 30:24). It was also an article of trade (Ezek. 27:19).

Jemima = “day by day” [Brown Driver Briggs Hebrew names H3224]

one of the daughters of Job born after the restoration

To summarize:
God will beautify the meek with salvation and set them as precious stones in precious metal – portion of wealth and beauty.
God will make your life a pleasing aroma to those being saved and the fragrance of His anointing and presence will be diffused through your life.
God will give your daily bread and spiritual sustenance forever and never leave you nor forsake you.
Because we are speaking of Job’s daughters here – you can read “Church” into the portion of blessing here.

The good news is that God organizes the double portion, through His network, it is not even your own doing. All you have to do is live a life of repentance and shift your perspective to God’s and pray for your friends OPERATING IN A SPIRIT OF LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. When THINGS GO WRONG, DON’T BLAME God but seek His Kingdom first and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
