Decreeing the Great Harvest

17 August 2012 – Andre Pelser

Last night I dreamt how I decreed the Great Harvest that Nola prophesied about in 2005. There was such anointing and I recognised certain individuals that we sent out to different places decreeing the harvest for them.

There are certain requirements for the decree and definite labours to secure the harvest. If it is going to be a great harvest there has to be great labour taking place beforehand.

Requirements for the decree

I decree cannot be taken lightly. A decree is not wishful thinking. A decree is based on the prophetic intent: in other words we have to have a glimpse of God’s design for the future before a decree can be made. Prophecy given by the Holy Spirit opens a spiritual window into the future. We see with spiritual eyes what the Spirit is showing us. He shows us things to come and then guides and leads us into that truth.

Once the prophetic intention of God has crystallized we can make a decree with apostolic authority.

When the king of the Medes and the Persians made a decree, nothing could thwart it. It had to come to pass, even if it took 400 years. The Cyrus anointing explains a lot about the royal decree. God chose Cyrus, a heathen king, to fulfil his prophetic intent in the earth. He called Cyrus, ‘My servant’, long before Cyrus understood his own prophetic destiny to fulfil God’s design. When Cyrus discovered his own name in a prophecy he
realised that he had a prophetic purpose in the earth and made decrees according to the prophetic utterance which came to pass eventually.

In the New Covenant we have a New Testament and we are made kings and priests unto God, a royal priesthood. In the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ every believer is both a king and a priest. In other words we can minister to the Lord and to other people and we can operate with royal authority. We are kings under the King of kings. We can rule over situations as God allows. We can make decrees according to the clear purposes
of God. Once we know what God’s intent it, we can co-operate with Him.

The apostolic anointing is a decreeing anointing. It causes breakthrough in tough situations. The spoken Word of the Lord has tremendous creative power in the earth. The decree according to the design of God has a great impact on the future.

So the requirements for a decree are:

  1. The prophetic intent of the Lord has to be understood
  2. There has to be authority in the spirit to make a decree
  3. People have to believe the decree to co-operate and bring it to pass

The labours to produce a great harvest are made clear in John 4 where Jesus talks about the harvest.

  1. Jesus did the will of God and finished His work
  2. Jesus told the disciples to lift up their eyes to see the harvest
  3. Jesus said the harvest is great but the labourers are few
  4. Jesus said the harvest is white, ready to be harvested
  5. Jesus demanded that we pray and ask the Lord of the harvest to send forth harvesters to reap the harvest

We have to realise that a harvest cannot come unless the ground is cultivated and seed sown. Then rain is required to moisten the earth and produce a harvest. The harvest has to be reaped. The harvest cannot reap itself. Therefore it needs harvesters that know what they are doing. People who know how to reap a harvest can reap a harvest. You cannot send untrained people into the harvest field. They will spoil the harvest.

We need to train people to do the will of God and to finish His work.

We need people who can use their spiritual eyes to see the great harvest.

We need to labour in prayer and ask God to send harvesters into the harvest.

The word of God is the seed. When Jesus explained the parable of the sower and the fields, He explained that the seed is the Word of God. We need to be sowers of the Word. We can sow the word by being witnesses of Jesus Christ, we can sow the word by handing out tracts, we can sow the word by bringing people to house groups or to church, we can sow the word by praying for people in specific ways. We approach God on behalf of people before we approach people on behalf of God.

Prayer is labour in the spirit. It is hard work. That is why most people do not pray. Their spirits are not trained. They have lazy spiritual muscles. We need to make prayer part of our lives so that we can pray without ceasing. We never stop praying. We can pray in the middle of a conversation. We can pray when we wake up at night. We can pray when we gather for a meal. We pray in our house groups and in church.

We pray that God will bless the sowing of the seed of His word. We pray that those seeds will fall on fertile soil in the hearts of people. The understanding heart produces a 100 fold harvest. The seed falling by the wayside are eaten by the birds of the air. The hearts that are hard are shallow and when persecution arises for the Word’s sake, the plants wither and die. Where there are too many other things in a heart, the cares of
this life, the deceitfulness of riches, the desire for other things, the plant is choked. But where the heart has been prepared to receive the Word of God it produces a great harvest.

I decree your personal harvest today! Where you sow in tears you will reap with joy! Great will be your harvest of all the good things you have sown. You will come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves of the harvest!

Harvest Time is hard work. The book of Proverbs declares a lazy son in the time of harvest is a disgrace to his father. We have to work hard for the harvest. As snow in the time of harvest so is good news from a foreign land. We hear good news from other nations where God is doing wonderful things for Harvesters.

You are a Harvester. We work as a Combined Harvester. The synergy of the group brings benefits far greater than the individual contribution. The bit of dancing energy we spend during worship, the bit of singing we do, the bit of finances we give are rewarded far and above our contribution. We are blessed because we are part of the body of Christ. Where brothers dwell together in unity God commands His blessing!

We enter into other people’s labours. We reap where we have not sown! Yet we sometimes sow where other people reap. We fulfil the prophetic decree of Christ concerning the Harvest. We are the answer to His High Priestly prayer: we are the labourers and harvesters that bring in the great harvest!

Reap your harvest of healing because you have prayed for so many others for healing! Reap your harvest of finances because you have given to missions! Reap your harvest of favour because you have obeyed the Word of God so many times. You are His beloved son and daughter in whom He is well pleased. He will grant you favour with the right people at the right time. It will be effortless for you to obtain favour because God gives it to you. God will promote and bless you and you will reap your personal harvest far beyond what you can ask or expect! He is the Lord of your harvest!

It is Harvest Time! The grain is falling, the Lord is calling! Please do not wait, it’s getting late, behold the fields are ripe, it’s Harvest Time! (a song by A. A. Allen, Miracle Valley).
