“Choices of the Chosen out Ones that exhibit Jesus to the World today.”

1Pe 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
1Pe 1:2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

The most important work we can do as a church is to see Christ formed in people. If you can connect someone to Christ within, they will realize how to live, to care for others, to love God and humanity without external motivation. This is really the genius of God through the church that helps people to coordinate their functions and synergize their faith to see a corporate representation of Christ through a local church. While many churches focus on activities and find their mandates in external missions, the internal mission is often neglected – to focus inward on Christ will release the outward commission to go and make disciples of all nations more effectively, not the other way around. Jesus first drew his disciples to Himself and taught them His ways, gave them His Spirit, then they were sent out.

When Apostle Peter wrote this epistle, he was addressing a large and worldwide audience. He covered a region stretching from Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bythinia. In the region where he had apostolic influence, he reminded them of the choices of the chosen out ones that they had made and were going to make in the future. There is no more relevance topic for the church today.

Here are some “Choices of the Chosen out Ones” that exhibit Jesus to the World today.

1. Chosen as Ambassadors of Jesus Christ representing the kingdom of heaven in a dark world.
The word ‘apostle’ means
apostolos [ap-os'-tol-os]
a delegate; specifically an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ (“apostle”), (with miraculous powers): - apostle, messenger, he that is sent. Strong’s Concordance G652
You get those who function in the office of an apostle and that is a divine calling requiring full consecration of spirit soul and body. You do not sign up to be an apostle. God decides. But everyone can be an apostolic person, sent by God into daily life as an ambassador of the kingdom of heaven. It is like everyone can operate in the gift of prophecy, but few are called to live in the office of a prophet.
The good news is that you can choose to be chosen as an ambassador by accepting the great command to love and the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations, wherever you are!

2. Chosen and Unafraid to living next to pagans who have been given over to uncleanness.
Stop worrying about your pagan neighbours and start loving them. We live in a sinful world but sin shall not have dominion over us. The thing is to not fear and to settle yourself by faith that if God is for you, who can be against you. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
1Jn 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

3. Sown as chosen seeds throughout the world, where we are sent daily.
The word for ‘sown’ is ‘scattered’ like the diaspora of a nation across the world.
Diaspora [dee-as-por-ah']
From G1289; dispersion, that is, (specifically and concretely) the (converted) Israelites resident in Gentile countries: - (which are) scattered (abroad). Strong’s Concordance G1290

4. Elected to be chosen out ones
The fact is that you choose to be chosen. You can decide whether you are a vessel of honour or dishonor as we read in the following epistle:
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honour and some for dishonour.
2Ti 2:21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honour, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

And in another sense, when we choose to receive Jesus as our Lord and savior, we obtain the right to become sons of God:
Joh 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
Joh 1:13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
So God’s will is that we become chosen ones, but it happens through a choice of our will too, accompanied by faith in Jesus Christ.

5. Set Apart by the Holy Spirit who works in us to be more like Jesus.
Sanctification, is a holy making process. He has perfected forever, those who are being sanctified. More and more, our lives are set apart for the service of God and others. We start to see His will in our lives, and we present our bodies as a living sacrifice. When we choose to lose our lives this way, we find eternal life as a reward and the benefits that come along with saying, “Mot my will but Yours be done O Lord.”

6. Chosen to obey the faith in Jesus’ finished work on the cross
You need to realize that faith is an act of obedience to the truth in the living Word of God made flesh. He said spoke and said “let it Be” when he made the heavens and the earth. But we often doubt that He spoke into our lives. Start believing your beliefs and start doubting your doubts! It sounds so simple and it is. Children can do it. Adults think so hard about something, they enter paralysis by analysis and can’t function anymore! To the children belong the kingdom of heaven.

7. Chosen the Blood of Jesus that overcomes the curse, sickness and sin.
Rev. 12:11 is the key verse that helps us overcome the accuser that accuses us night and day. But remember the accuser is a liar and that blood of Jesus and the testimony of it and the fact that we are will to lay down our lives for our faith in it, overcomes those lying accusation, symptoms, doubt and fears that our old enemy throws at us from all angels when we are down.
He is defeated forever. We are keeping time to God’s punishment of the liar through praise and worship without even thinking about him. Our focus is so on God that the devil doesn’t register in our worship service. Jesus is the focus and Jesus is the defeater of the Satan of each life. Over and over again.

8. Chosen sanctifying grace that equips and sustains us through it all.
God’s throne of grace is where it all happens for us. Accessing that throne room experience is a spiritual trip! We access by the blood of Jesus and in His throne room of grace, we find mercy to help us, but also grace power that equips us and gives us unmerited and unlimited favour. It is as if Jesus is asking when we speak to the Father to access His grace.

9. Chosen tranquilizing peace that passes understanding.
Php 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Php 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
By choosing to pray and think about the things mentioned in the passage, we can access the chosen peace of God that is beyond our understanding. We do not understand why we have peace in trying situations, but we do.! This is the kingdom peace that we seek first in all things. The good news is that by choosing Jesus. That peace is now with you forever!
