Build Your Church Lord

I know when God wakes me up: I have an absolutely clear mind in an instant. I also know when it is my spirit waking me up. This time it was my spirit. I prayed myself awake! I was crying out to the Lord that He should build His Church the way He wants to build it. I have such a desire to see how He builds His church without all the trappings of human manipulation and pyramid schemes based on multi-level selling methods. I desire to see what the Church of the First Born looks like in the earth. I believe we are stepping into a wonderful era of Christ's authority in the church and we will experience kingdom rule and reign in our lives and our churches like never before! Everything will be shaken and only what Christ built will remain standing in the end. His kingdom will never be shaken. It is the time of the manifestations of the true sons of God in the earth and the earth that groaned and moaned is beginning to rejoice!Build your Church Lord
My Spirit prayed so loud in my sleep that I woke up at 3 A M this morning. I was praying, repeatedly, “Build your church, oh Lord; that the gates of hell will not prevail against it”.
I got up and went down to the dining room to read the Word and to pray. I meditated on Mark 7-12 for two hours and prayed about many issues in my life. There are definite decisions I have to make and I have to be sure I am doing the right thing in other areas. I needed divine counsel. I was desperate to hear from heaven. My soul was crying out to God.
This was Samuel’s last day with us. He returned to Paris this afternoon.
We spoke in great length last night and this morning about the modus operandi of the church. Both of us understand that the pyramid systems in the church are evil and cannot be from God, yet all who operate the pyramid systems do not have evil hearts – there are no other systems to replace it.
I tried to explain the planetary system to Samuel but he had his reservations because every other department does not fit into the pastor’s orbit. He sees the importance that every person is to be Christ-centred but he wants to see on paper when he has a meeting with each responsible person in the church. As a pastor he is unconcerned with the future development and reformation of the church. All he is interested in is the immediate effect of change in the church. We both admitted that the ideology of the apostolic reformation is still very theoretical and needs much evolution before the pyramid systems can actually be replaced as the most effective systems to run a church. If we are unable to explain step one, two, three to pastors and members alike, they will agree with the dismantling of the pyramid systems in principles but cannot apply the planetary model as a modus operandi until it is clear how the pastor relates to every member in their orbit.
There is still much thinking and praying to do; God has to reveal the secrets of his kingdom. The apostolic keys to unlock and unravel the mysteries are available, but hard to find. Jesus promised these keys to his apostles. He rebuked the scribes and Pharisees who do not want to go in and throw away the keys so that their followers cannot enter either. This seems to be the case with most ministers: what they do not wish to enter is the limits they set for their flock.
God, hear and answer my prayer, what is our role in building your church so that the gates of hell cannot prevail against it?
If the man-made church programmes based on multi-level selling pyramid schemes guarantee growth of membership in the church, what do we do who trust in you for growth in our churches? The danger of lethargy produces a passivity that can border on laziness, expecting God to do all the work to cause growth in a church. The G-12 methods drive people like slaves and earn the reputation being a disciplined church. But we who see the dangers of man-made systems producing goal orientated instead of Christ centred life-styles, flee from any Egyptian secular model; and yet we are waiting on clarification on what model to use that is both pleasing to God and effective in producing church growth. This is a real question that needs an answer. Church growth Fundi’s insist that they do not want to ‘go deep’ in other words they do not want deep spiritual things: they want to keep it broad and shallow so that they can cover a large crowd of people. They want the numbers to grow; they are not interested in spiritual growth. That is why a new convert is forced to ‘produce’ a home cell of friends within three weeks of conversion. Being a baby is nothing to them because the aim of the growth they are promoting has nothing to do with the maturity of the believer but in following a system. Anyone can follow a system, whether they are mature or not. In this way every member becomes productive.
The question remains: are they producing after their own kind? If they are they are producing more and more immature believers and the church will never come to maturity. That is why they are all surprised when a bit of suffering occurs or when persecution sets in, or when they have to face hardship or temptation. They all think God has forsaken them. Many eventually backslide and hate God because they were never instructed to have apostolic perspective about life.
Yet churches that are willing to enter the deeper life through proper teaching will see maturity in their members, but growth in membership is much slower.
Please, God, I ask you in Jesus’ Name, show me how you build a kind of church that the gates of hell cannot prevail against.

Mark Visser told us that the so-called church growth churches in Korea are starting to run empty after thirty or forty years. The people just cannot keep up the pace. Yet some of those women pastors have planted 70 churches or more and their smallest is 1 000 members! Some of the 10 000-seater auditoriums now only host 800 people or so. The pyramid systems of forced labour and unnatural growth have exhausted a whole generation of believers and the new generation is not willing to be driven like cattle. They would rather not go to church at all than to have to be part of a system that made mince-meat out of them.

Where is the truth between these extremes and how do we teach and operate the divine systems of growth, where God provides the growth and we cannot manipulate or control it? The moment we can make a church grow it is no longer God. If God alone can cause the growth we can only sow and plant and water the seeds.

5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. 10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

Auxano is the Greek word for enlargement or increase.

Man’s labour to sow and to water is ‘kopos’ literally meaning a ‘cut’ implying pain, weariness, reducing strength. No matter how much we hack, no matter how harder we work, no matter how much sharper we make the instrument we cannot make a plant grow. Only God provides the power to grow.

We are co-labourers with God: ‘sunergos’: In association with God we come into union with him and our labours resemble what He does. Ergos is occupatio
