Apostolic Prayer

Passage: Romans 1:9-10

Here are specific prayer requests made by New Testament Apostles that are key for us today to intercede for apostles & saints.

Romans 1:9-10

For God whom I serve in and with all my spirit in the preaching of the Gospel of His Son is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers making request if perhaps now at last by the will of God I may be prospered and succeed in coming to you

To be received

Romans 15:30-31

Now I urge you brethren by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit to strive together (contend vigorously) with me in your prayers (earnest wrestling) to God for me, that I may be delivered (rescued) from those who are disobedient and unbelievers in Judea and that my service (ministry) for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints and be graciously received

Romans 15:32

So that I may come to you in joy with a happy heart by the will of God and find a refreshing interval of rest in your company

II Corinthians 1:8, 9

For we do not want you to be unaware brethren of our affliction and oppressing distress which came excessive to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength and crushed, so that we despaired even of life; indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves in order that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead

II Corinthians 1:10, 11

Who delivered us from so great a peril of death and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will deliver us from danger and destruction and draw us near to Himself, you also joining in helping us through your prayers, that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed upon us through the prayers of many

Ephesians 6:19

And pray on my behalf that fearless freedom of utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the Gospel

Spreading of the Word

II Thessalonians 3:1

Finally brethren pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly (run its course) and be glorified and triumph just as it did also with you

II Thessalonians 3:1, 2

Pray for us that we may be delivered from perverse, improper, unrighteous, wicked, actively malicious opposed and evil men; for not all have faith and are held by it

Romans 10:1, 2

Brethern, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them (Israel) is for their salvation. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal and enthusiasm for God, but not in enlightenment and accordance with (correct and vital) knowledge

II Corinthians 13:7

Now we pray to God that you do no wrong nor one bit of evil; not that we ourselves (our teaching) may appear approved, but that you may continue to do what is right and honorable, even though we should appear to fail or be unapproved

II Corinthians 13:9

For we rejoice when we ourselves are weak but you are strong; this we also pray for, that you be equipped, made complete and equipped all round and with strengthening and perfecting of soul

Ephesians 1:16, 17

I do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation, of insight into mysteries and secrets, in His deep and intimate full knowledge of Him

Ephesians 1:18, 19

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened (flooded with light) so that you may know and understand what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), and what is the surpassing immeasurable, unlimited greatness of His inherent power toward us who believe

Philippians 1:9

And this I pray that your love may abound and overflow still more and more, extending to its fullest development in real knowledge and all discernment (keen insight)

His will

Colossians 1:9

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the advanced, full, deep and clear knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom (the ways and purposes of God) and understanding
