Turned Into Another Man

Turned into another Man

Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser in Liberia, Soul Harvester Ministries, Soul Clinic, 10th June 2012.

Based on a sermon by Apostle Andre Pelser.

Reading the account of Saul when he had to search for his father’s donkeys, we discern some steps towards turning into another man.

  1. Acknowledge your Crisis.

Kishlost his donkeys, a big deal in those days. He sent his son along with a servant to find them. But doesn’t God sometimes allow us to go through some trials and tribulations to get us out of our comfort zone and get us on a new pathway for our life? 1 Samuel 9:3

  1. Connect with a Man of God.

Find a man of God in the city, it is those with servant hearts that know God’s servants. We think of Naaman’s servant who told him to go to Elijah. A man of God will be able to see in the spiritual realm, a prophet or a seer is what they called Samuel, who also acted as a Judge inIsrael. 1 Samuel 9:9

  1. Hear from God in your Ear.

In the Old Testament, only selected people could hear God’s voice in their ear, like Samuel did from an early age. But the Good News is that all believers in Jesus Name can hear God speak to them through His Word today! 1 Samuel 9:15

  1. Stop being Anxious.

Apostle Paul writes to the Philippian believers to be anxious for nothing but in everything with prayer and supplications, with thanksgiving, make their requests known to God. Believe that God has found your “donkeys” – whatever you have been anxious about, believe that God is working on your behalf to save you out of your crisis, Jesus Christ is the Christ of your Crisis! 1 Samuel 9:20

  1. Understand the Father’s Heart for you.

We often forget that we have a spiritual Father and that he cares more about His workers than the work that they do for Him. Saul’s father had long stopped worrying about the donkeys and started worrying about his son! 1 Samuel 10:2

  1. Get anointed.

1 Samuel 10:1. Realize that God has anointed you so that you can look after His inheritance, the Church, His kingdom that will never end.

  1. Get Instructions for living.

1 Samuel 10:2 God will direct you and guide you with His eye. Let his word be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path.

  1. Have Communion and Atonement with God.

The loaves and the skin of wine speak to us about communion, remember Jesus’ death and resurrection, his body that was broken for you, His blood that was shed for the remission of your sins. But also discern the Body of Christ, that you are a part of it, and that you recognize others in that body. The Goats speak about the Atonement that Jesus became for all mankind, the scapegoat for the sins of the world fulfilling the Law in Leviticus 16:7.

  1. Meet Prophetic People that Praise and Worship God.

In the New Covenant we continually bring the sacrifice of praise that is the fruit of our lips. 1 Samuel 10:5, 10. Hebrews 13:15.

  1. Be Filled with the Spirit of God.

Coming into contact with Spirit-filled believers gives you the chance to be spirit-filled too – it rubs off on you! In the Book of Acts, the apostles laid hands on the believers and they received the gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. This was always in conjunction with water baptism, the answer of a good conscience in obedience to God, the doing away with the old nature through burial in baptism with Jesus, being raised in newness of life – a new creation!  1 Samuel 10:6.

  1. Prophesy with God’s people.

When God’s Spirit has filled you, you start to overflow with living water from your innermost being and you will glorify God, speak in tongues, witness boldly and prophesy! Look at 1 Corinthians 12-14. 1 Samuel 10:6.

  1. Be turned into another man.

1Samuel 10:6

It is actually becoming the person God designed you to be, where sin causes us to “miss the mark” for our lives and distorts the image of God within, Jesus paid to restore our full potential as sons and daughters of God!

  1. Let God give you another heart.

When Saul turned from Samuel and started to obey and walk the new pathway by faith, God gave him another heart. We take the first step! Decide to believe and obey God’s word today and God will give you another heart and turn you into another man!
