The Private Eye

'PrivateIt says in the Word that the Lord took His disciples away, privately, so that they can rest. So the thought came to me that the Holy Spirit is God's private eye. He deals with us privately. Let us look at some instances where He deals with us privately.

The Bible says that everything is naked and open before the Lord. It also says that the eyes of the Lord is searching over the earth looking for those who will completely trust in Him. Some dealings of us where He deals with us privately:

What about your private fears? We all have private fears that we do not discuss with anyone. Is. 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” The Bible says 366 times to fear not. One for every day and even for the leap year. What is there that you secretly fear? God wants to deal with your private fears. Sometimes in a family you fear the past or you fear the future. In today’s world, Jesus said that hearts will fail because of the terrible things that are coming over the world. If all you do is watch the news and read the news paper, your heart will give in because it is just bad news all the time. It is good to be aware of it, but it can exasperate you. That is why the Gospel is called the Good News. It is good news to hear more gospel on the news than fear of sensationalism. Who are you afraid of? What are you afraid might happen to you? Fear is unreasonable. It is not logical because it hasn't happen yet. You fear something that hasn't happen yet. It is an unrealistic explanation. You build something up in your mind that hasn't happen yet and then you have sleepless nights about that thing that hasn't happen yet. Today, God says to you: “Fear not!” Whatever it is, “Fear not!”

What about your secret tears? Sometimes we cry in secret because we don not want anyone to see. What is it that you cry about in secret? Revelation 21:4 – “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; …” He secretly takes us aside and deals with us secretly. Sometimes we go to a secret place to go cry there, but is drying those tears. The private eye sees that tears.

What are the secret pains and sicknesses that you don't even want to discuss with a doctor because you are too afraid that they might hospitalize you? The Bible talks about a woman who was sick for 18 years and who spend all her money on medicine and doctors. But in stead of getting better she just grew worse and worse. Then she heard about Jesus and said that if she can only touch the hem of His garment that she will be made whole. She pressed through a crowd and touched the hem of His garment. This morning God wants you to press through, by faith, to touch the hem of His garment. Secret diseases, pains, etc., God wants to heal you and set you free. God's private eye sees all these things.

What are the private battles that you have? You are tired and exhausted from fighting the same battles over and over again. You are not fighting flesh and blood, but against demon spirits that are behind flesh and blood. Your battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers that is against you. A bull in a bull fighting arena, if the bull could find out that his enemy is not the cloth but the Matterhorn, the Matterhorn is in trouble. And many times the devil uses people to upset you and make you miserable, but he is the problem and not the people. It is not flesh and blood that you are fighting. So you bind the spirit that uses those people, then things will change. We use spiritual weapons not carnal weapons. We have the Name of Jesus, the Word of God. That is our sword in the spirit. We have the shield of faith that protects us. The helmet of salvation and the breastplate of righteousness. The belt of truth. You have the shoes of willingness to share the gospel with people.

The Holy Spirit, the private eye also sees your secret prayer, pouring your heart out before God. Studying the Word, repenting of your sins. Making a new consecration to God, a final surrender of spirit soul and body. To serve God and say that every next step is a step of holiness. Of walking away, making a turn around in your thinking. The private eye also sees that and He says, “Your Father sees in secret and will reward you in open.”

What about your private envy? That jealousy, the private hatred? Where there is jealousy and envy there is confusion. When you are confused, look for jealousy and envy and you'll stop the confusion. Because selfish ambition causes those things. James 3: 17 – “ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”

What are your private prides? “That is how I am and people must except me like that.” It is pride speaking. God resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble.

You can go to God and He will deal with you privately. And the beauty is that He not only forgives, but He forgets and He cleanses your conscience from it too. He says, “ I will remember it no more.” 1 John 1:9- “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

How about your private victories? Sometimes you win a victory and it is very hard to tell anyone about it, because it is very difficult to explain to someone what you have just been through. It is very difficult to even admit what you have just overcome. God's private eye sees everything all the time. Thank God that He is not partial. He has released His private eye on your behalf. He said, “I'll be with you.” Fear not I am with you. He doesn't say I'll be with you a bit later. He is with you. You cannot quickly leave Him somewhere and you go somewhere else. He goes with you. He is with you all the time. You can't shake Him off because He is inside. He is with you.

He sees everything all of us do all the time. All our reactions, attitudes. He also sees what you need. He sees how other people treat you. He hears your cry of help. He says, “when they call I will answer.” What a wonderful detective to have on your side. He detects your moods, understands your feelings. What a wonderful God to have on your side. And the secret is to spend time with God alone. No and again shut yourself in with God. No and then shut your door, put off the cell phones, unplug the TV, just you and God. Because it is thos
