The Place of the man of God in your life

By Dr. Blessing Uwaleke

Preached at Harvester Reformational Church, 22 November 2009

When God calls a man or a woman he calls them to meet a need in other people’s lives.

II Chronicles 20:20

Believe in the lord your God and you will be established; believe in his servants the prophets and you will prosper.

Hosea 12:13

By a prophet the lord brought Israel out of Egypt and preserved them

Haggai 1:12

Then spoke Haggai the lord’s messenger … and the people built

Ezra 6:14

Haggai and Zechariah prophesied and the elders built and prospered

The blessing from God you are looking for is in a man God sends to you. If you need healing he will lay hands on you in Jesus Name and you receive your healing. If you need guidance someone will prophesy and give you direction. It is God’s desire for you to prosper and be in health as your soul prospers.

God’s plan is simple: believe in the lord your God and you will be established and believe in his prophets and you will prosper. He did not give us a difficult thing to do. Everyone can do that.

Why do people not believe the man of God?

They despise him and look down on him. They do not believe God can use him.

II Kings 7 tells the story of real hunger. People were eating their children. The king wanted to know where Elisha was. He believed the prophet could change things. Elisha prophesied: tomorrow this time there will be enough food for everyone. The minister of agriculture did not believe it and Elisha said: you will see it with your eyes but you will not taste it. He was killed in a stampede at the gate when the food arrived. God used four lepers to bring the result of the prophet’s statement.

Those who believed prospered.

II Kings 4 Obadiah’s widow was scared that the creditors would come and take her two sons because her husband had left them with a lot of debt. Elisha asked her what she had. All she had was a bottle of oil.

‘Go and borrow…’ the prophet told her.

If you were left with a lot of debt and the man of God told you to go and borrow some more, would you? He told her to go and borrow as many containers as she could and to pour the bottle of oil into the containers and to sell the containers full of oil to pay her debts. She believed and prospered.

Today people believe CNN more than the prophets of God. Isaiah 53 says, who has believed our report and to whom was the arm of the Lord revealed?

Promotion and prosperity come by believing the man of God.

If the pastor says, ‘you are blessed’ you should be jumping up and down because you believe it. If he says, ‘you are healed’, you should be thanking God aloud for your healing. If he says, ‘God prospers you’, you should be rejoicing because you believe the man of God.

The man or woman of God is called to meet your need. Your blessing is in the man that brings God’s message to you.

When the Saul’s father’s donkeys were missing they searched for it for days and couldn’t find it. Then Saul’s servant reminded him about a man of God in the land. He said, let us take the money we have with us and give it to the man of God and he will locate the donkeys for us. They gave to receive. They invested to withdraw. They tapped into the grace of the man of God and the donkeys were found.

Lives can be affected by the grace in a man of God if people see him as a man of God. You learn the Life of Christ from someone.  In Nigeria we have seen the life of Christ in Apostle Andre Pelser. He has affected many lives not only with his preaching but also with his life. His family has affected this church because you see the life of Christ in them. Apostle Aje is affecting lives because of the grace of God in his life. When they speak to you believe what they say and go and do it and you will prosper.
