The Easy Yoke

The difference between a bull and an ox is quite apparent! In the old days a farmer never ploughed with bulls but with a yoke of oxen, that is, a few pairs of oxen yoked together. A yoke is unique: it binds workers together. The yoke of Christ ties us together in the work of the Kingdom of God. Bulls do not accept a yoke. They want to parade for all the cows! Oxen are workers. They understand submission, but also know rewards! Pulling the load together is easier than doing it on your own. The Lord’s yoke is easy and his burden is light. His anointing gives us supernatural ability to do His work. It seems so easy!
Dr. Francois and Louise’s new born baby fell in and had to be taken into intensive care. They sms’d a few people and I prayed with them. The next sms said, thanks for your prayers David our boy is healed! It was so easy! That was not a hard yoke to bear!
Tammy was bitten by flees and asked Clyde to pray for her. Instead Clyde spat on her feet. This upset Tammy because it was her first meeting in our church. But she was never bitten again! That sounds so easy! Spit and flees are gone!
Jesus’ yoke is easy and His burden is light!
Jesus knew what He was trying to teach His disciples when He told them to take His yoke upon them:

Matthew 11:28-30
28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Compared to the burdens of the world, the yoke of Christ is easy to bear. Here are some instances to prove that his yoke is easy.
1. Abraham: walk before me and be mature. Believe I will make you a great nation. Test: see if Abraham will obey him and then provide the sacrificial animal for him. The Lord’s yoke is easy!
2. When Moses faced the Red Sea being pursued by Pharaoh’s army the Lord tells him to stretch out his rod over the sea. God’s voice parts the water, His breath dries up the soil with a strong East Wind and makes a path where there is no path! When Israel passed through the Egyptians attempted to do the same – but they had no faith in God. God tells Moses to stretch his rod out over the sea again and it closes on the Egyptians. The Lord’s yoke is easy!
3. Gideon has to break pitchers and blow on ram’s horns to destroy the Midianites! The Lord’s yoke is easy!
4. David uses a slingshot to kill a giant!
5. Jesus feeds 5 000 people with 5 fish and 2 loaves.
6. Mary tells the servants at a feast what Potiphar told the Egyptians when there was no provision: ‘do whatever he tells you to do!’ Joseph had already prepared for the seven lean years when there were seven fat years. His barns were full and had enough provision for everyone. At the wedding feast in Cana the water was turned into wine!
7. When we take His Yoke upon us and learn from Him, we find rest for our souls!

Iron Yoke, heavy yoke, grievous yoke
Yoke of transgression (Lamentation 1:14)
Yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1)
We should be careful not to put heavy yokes on other people according to our demands.

The Year of Jubilee
The year of Jubilee announces freedom from fear, from sin, from depression, from doubt, from failure, from pride, from anxiety, from sickness, from despair, from rebellion, from witchcraft!
The anointing of the Lord destroys the yoke and breaks it into pieces so that no one can put it together again! I John 3:8 Christ came to destroy the works of the evil one!

Conclusion
Maybe there are people right now who labour and are heavy burdened. Jesus is saying to you right now, Come to me, and take my yoke upon you and learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart and you will find rest for your souls for My yoke is easy and My burden is light!
