Here are some “spiritual strategies” to overcome the evil nature.

1. Partake in Spiritual Food
a. Eat his flesh, Drink His blood. John 6:60-66
b. Spiritual meat is doing God’s will and finishing the work. John 4:34
c. Solid food belongs to those who exercise their spiritual senses to discern good and evil. Hebrews 5:12-14
d. Drinking of the Cup of Christ means understanding suffering for His sake. Matthew 20:22

2. Habitually order your life in the sphere of the Spirit
a. Apostles preach by the Spirit and encourage believers to order their lives around God’s Word, being led by the Holy Spirit. Study the passage concerning “Walking in the Spirit” in Galatians 5:16-21.
b. Those who habitually practise the things of the “evil nature” will not inherit the kingdom of God.
c. In Christ, this curse is reversed: “Those who habitually order their lives according to His divine nature will inherit the kingdom of God.”
d. Ask God in Jesus’ name to replace the works of the flesh (Evil nature) with the fruit of the Spirit.

3. Understand the mutual opposition of the “evil nature” and the “Spirit of God” in you.
a. Understand the law of the evil nature in mankind. Read through the following scriptures in the Book of Romans to gain clarity on the matter: Romans 3:20; 5:12,13,20,21; 6:2,6,7,11,12,13
b. The Spirit has a strong desire to suppress the evil nature in us, but the evil nature also wants to suppress the Spirit’s work in us.
c. Good news is that we can choose God’s Spirit as the ruling force. Yes, we are free from the law of sin, the law of the “evil nature” in mankind. We are no longer slaves to sin!
d. We are now led by the Spirit of God, and not by the depraved evil nature of sin.
