Scotland Revisited 07
The beauty of Scotland and England remains in one's memory after a long drive from Kilsyth near Glasgow all the way to Birmingham where Prophet Graham and his family live. I stayed in Castlecary House Hotel, North Cumbernauld, near Kilsyth, and Graham and I watched England beat France in the lounge bar (all public places in Scotland are smoke free zones)and it seemed that we were the only two cheering for England in the Scottish bar! The local pie and chips was delicious and more than a man could ask for. Jonny Wilkinson, my personal player of the world cup, tackled like a Staffordshire Terrier and fearlessly brought down the monster Chaval and other man-eating forwards of the French! His 40 yard drop-kick was absolutely superb and his work rate 100%. What a player! He has come back from his neck injury with greater mental and physical strength. His mother cannot bear to watch him play. She goes to the shopping mall and walks around till the game is over! All mothers are like that! But to my mind it was the ankle tap that prevented a certain French try that saved the day for England. They were given a 230 to 1 chance to win the world cup after their 36-0 thrashing they received from the Springboks in the first round of the tournament and now they have a golden opportunity to avenge that defeat and to redeem their pride in the final on Saturday! What a culmination of a story that went full circle in the tournament. May the best side win. I predicted at the beginning that England and South Africa would be in the final when I saw the two flags draped on the windows in Hilton's class teacher, Mr. Rob Riches's, class!
The meetings at Kilsyth Community Church were on Sunday. In the morning it was a more traditional meeting, more older folks, and the atmosphere a bit more tense than the relaxed evening service with the majority of young people and lively music. Pastor Mark and Ayleen Flemming have been there for 9 years now and brought about some great changes. The other pastoral couple is Ian and Val Paget. Ian led the worship and is open to the prophetic flow of the Spirit. Prophetess Barbara held a worship seminar just before we came. They asked if Nola would come and teach and demonstrate to them what she does in worship!
I shared about keys given to apostles in the morning and explained why there cannot be unity unless apostolic doctrine brings people into the unity of faith. Winds of doctrine bring confusion and error into the church. Apostolic doctrine establishes people in truth. No wonder the devil and religious spirits prevent the acknowledgement of apostles in the church today – they know the value of apostolic ministry and doctrine and keep people from it as much as they can!
Pastor Mark acknowledge to Graham and I when we had lunch with his family after church, 'apostle is still a swear word here!'
That night I ministered on Paul's Damascus Road experience and how people expect the Lord to tell them plainly what to do, but do not listen to ordinary people speaking to them about the purposes of God. Jesus appeared to Saul and when Saul asked him, 'Lord what do you want me to do?' Jesus did not tell him, but commanded him to go to where he was heading, to Damascus, and there it would be told him what he had to do. Jesus then appeared to an ordinary disciple, Annanias, and sent him to Saul to pray for him and to tell him how he would appear before great men, but also how many great things he would suffer for Christ's sake! There were no details given – like, go to Ephesus, go to Miletus, have a shipwreck, be beaten with rods! The reason why no details were given is simply because we are called to live by faith and not by sight. Paul understood that.
I shared how Aunty Raper gave one line prophecy to me and how I have spend a life time fulfilling just that: God will use you in other lands! So many people in the Charismatic era have files full of prophecies and still they do not know what God wants them to do! This is a ridiculous state in the church and shows how many charlatans there have been calling themselves prophets! People are confused and all are looking for their destiny and try to find their purpose: they attend seminar after seminar, conference after conference, they gather information in loads and are still marking time as far as their spiritual progress is concerned. Why? Because their is no apostolic impartation in their lives – no impact on their spirits. Impartation works differently than information. We live in the age of information but we need spiritual impartation!
I demonstrated how the body of Christ can minister to each other when we are willing to receive ministry like Saul did, from an ordinary believer! Within five minutes the whole church was ministered to! If I had to do it then it would have taken two hours!
I was able to watch most of the Springbok's game vs. Argentina after church at Iain and Susan Wilson's place. They are moving to Ottowa, Canada soon. It was a scrappy game, playing ping-pong with all the kicking, but there were two great interceptions that resulted in tries. Percy Montgommery is the highes points scorer and Brian Habanna the most prolific try scorer in the tournament so far.
Prophet Graham and prophetess Barabara ministered to individuals on Sunday night. Pastor Ian and Val would like to come and visit us in Cape Town some time.
On the way from Scotland to Birmingham we had lunch with Pastor Duncan, Phillip and Ruth in a Toby Tavern, near Sowerby Bridge (pronounced Soarbybridge, like ' soar', otherwise it sounds like being 'sour'!)After explainng some of the reformation principles and structures to them, pastor Duncan gave me a hug and asked me to come and minister in the Elim church in Sowerby Bridge the next time I come to the UK! They are all attending the meetings tonight at the conference.
Today I am meeting with 6 pastors from different churches in the afternoon. They want to know more about the apostolic reformation. But really, it is Christ we preach, nothing more or less, it is just a dimension of Christ that has sadly been neglected by the church that we are emphasising for the sake of the edification and perfection of the saints till we all come to the unity of faith to a mature stature as the body of Christ.
It was great to see Anne, Jenny and Ben again and to give them a hug! Anne made her great apple crumble and custard for pudding. I made sure to tell her how Graham and I had our greens and fruit in Scotland: we had hamburgers with some salad hidden under the buns, and Graham had a knickerbocker special with a few pieces of fruit hidden in all the ice cream! Anne just smiled!
Here's an amazing story: their spin dryer overheated and ceased and a new one would cost £160. So Graham went onto the internet and found a solutions guy who asked £1 to offer this solution: 'open the back of the machine and you will see what used to be a self-adjusting switch. This switch contains a piece of rubber. When it overheats it bends and switches the machine off to protect it. Take this rubber out, throw it against the wall and then re-assemble it and close the back of the machine. It should work now!' Graham at first thought he had been had for a buck, but decided to throw the device against the wall as was suggested and viola! It worked fine again! So, the old method of kicking something electrical to get it going again is actually not a myth after all!
