REST

As we meditate on the word ’rest,’ we can meditate about all the attributes of rest that we can enter by faith. Heb. 4:1
Rest is defined as follows G2663vkatapausis Thayer Definition:
1) a putting to rest; 

1a) calming of the winds
2) a resting place
2a) metaphorically the heavenly blessedness in which God dwells, and of which he has promised to make persevering believers in Christ partakers after the toils and trials of life on earth are ended
R is Rest, but also for:
Repent – to convert and have your sins blotted out, then you can be refreshed in Refreshed in His Presence. Act 3:19; Ezra 9:9 repair ruins of the temple; Ps. 119:37 worthless things
Revive – God’s spirit alone can revive His people.
Restore –there is a time of restoration of all things, then Jesus will return: Acts 3:21
Reform – Jesus reformed the old covenant into the new so we can access it by faith: Heb. 9:10
Regenerate – through His mercy, washing and regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Titus3:5
Remember – The Holy Spirit brings His words to our remembrance: John 14:26
Remit – Without the shedding of His blood we have no rest or remission of sins: Acts 10:43; Heb. 9:22
Re-align – To agree like a ‘symphony’ (G4856) with His Word and with each other: Acts 15:15
Reconcile – Jesus gives us the ministry of reconciliation: 2 Cor. 5:18,19
Renew – we are transformed by the renewing of our minds: Rom. 12:2
E is for equip, but also for:
Escape – Through his promises we escape the corruption in the world through lust: 2 Pet. 1:3,4
Enlighten – Eyes are enlightened to see the hope of our calling and riches in the saints: Eph. 1:18
Equate – Christ Jesus made us all one and equal before him: Eph. 2:14,15
Emit – We are to emit a consistent sound or frequency from our lives in witnessing: Act 1:8
Energize – God’s energizing power works G1754) in us according to the power of His will: Eph. 1:11
Equalize – Jesus is equal with God yet became a servant: Phil. 2:6
Enquire – Enquire of the Lord and be at peace
Exercise – Exercise your senses to discern good and evil. Heb. 5:13
Enlarge – Enlarge the place of your dwelling and extend your tent pegs.
Engage – Engage in spiritual war not in the flesh. 2 Cor. 10:4; 2 Tim. 2:4
S is for Shield, but also for:
Shield – visualize a force field of faith surrounding you completely. As a body of believers, visualize the Roman TORTOISE formation of combined shields that became an impenetrable war strategy in close combat. Gen. 15:1; Eph. 6:16. Remember you are part of the Lord’s army now. Keep rank.
Supplication – Make supplication with thanksgiving and God’s peace will garrison your heart & mind: Phil. 4:6
Seek – Seek Him and keep seeking Him until you find Him
Say – Whatever we say in faith when we pray we will have it. Mark 11:23,24
Serve – Jesus came to serve and give us an example. Mark 10:24; Luk. 16:13
Surrender – Surrender your will to God and have peace.
Solitude – Jesus often went alone to pray.
Substitute – Jesus became our substitute on the cross.
Saviour – Jesus is our Saviour form sin, sickness and shame.
Shalom – Jesus has become our all-encompassing Peace.
Seat – We are seated with Him in heavenly places. Eph. 1:20; Eph. 2:6
Seventh Day – On the 7th day God rested from His works.
Sabbath – Jesus has become our Sabbath.
Saint – Your new identity in Christ Jesus is that of a saint.
Sent – We are sent one ones and ambassadors for the King!
Senses – We have our senses exercised to discern good and evil, are eat solid food, fulfilling His Word.
Sympathize – We have a High Priest who can sympathize with us and was tempted in all ways like us, yet without Sin, Jesus Christ the Righteous. Heb. 4:15
T is for Transform, but also for:
Talk – Walk and talk with Jesus like Abraham talked with God. Like Adam in the garden. Gen. 17
Trembling – we work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Phil. 2:12
Thunder – God’s voice sounds like thunder, yet His spirit speaks to us in a still small voice. 1 Kin. 19:12
Travel – we travel and God counts all our wanderings.
Train – we are to make disciples and train others to imitate Christ in us. Matt. 12:49; Matt. 28:18-20
Tests – The five Apostolic “T’s” are to develop the character of Christ in us the hope of Glory.
Trials – trials are extended tests of our faith. If you still believe, you pass the test!
Tribulations – times of pressure help us enter the kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Troubles – Jesus admits that in this life we have trouble, but cheer up He overcame the world.
Temptations – He does not lead us into temptation – pray that He will help us overcome it like He did.
Tranquilize – the grace and tranquilizing peace of God passes understanding and helps us endure much hardship in life.
Transition – there is a transition happening that the Holy Spirit will help you navigate through in life.
Translate – God’s Spirit will translate the words in the Bible to realities in your life. Tongues and interpretation help us understand God’s purposes in the earth and in our lives.
Transfigure – Jesus was transfigured as a prayed – we can change from glory to glory in His presence.
Timothy – He was timid but became bold and grew in strength like his mentor apostle Paul. 2 Tim. 1:7
Thomas – he made sure of what He saw, but eventually helped many believe.
Tarsus – Saul came from there and changed to Paul who wrote much of the New Testament for us.
Thessalonica – The apostles were persecuted there but they complimented them: Those who have turned the world upside down have come here too.” Acts 17:6
Thyatira – Overcoming Jezebel that entices people to sin and follow after false gods, God will give you power over the nations. Rev. 2:18 – 29
Tomb – Jesus’ tomb is empty. Other religions visit the tombs of their prophets.
Together – Church is a place we can assemble together and worship God in spirit and truth, inspire one another to good works. Heb. 10:24,25
Ten – Ten commands are all summarized in one Jesus gave, to love God and each other.
Thousands – Jesus is the Fairest of ten thousand.
Turn – As we turn from our sin and we are at rest with God. Dan. 9:13
Today – today when we hear His voice we will not harden our hearts as in the day of rebellion, but enter HIs rest of faith and His promised land for our existence. Heb. 4:7
As you hear the Word of the Lord, faith comes by hearing and hearing that word, so that you can mix it in your heart with faith, call on the name of the Lord and be saved from whatever you are facing. Romans 10:9-17
