Scripture reading:
Psa 21:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
Psa 21:2 You have given him his heart’s desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
Psa 21:3 For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head.
Psa 21:4 He asked life from You, and You gave it to him— Length of days forever and ever.
Psa 21:5 His glory is great in Your salvation; Honor and majesty You have placed upon him.
Psa 21:6 For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence.
Psa 21:7 For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.
Reasons for kings and priests to rejoice:
1. Kings and priests rejoice in His strength, not our might and power, but by his Spirit we overcome, rule and reign in this life and in the life to come. Zechariah 4:6
2. Kings and priests rejoice in His power to save – the power of the Gospel is unto salvation and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3.
3. God gives His kings and priests the desires of their hearts, and he honours their requests made in Jesus’ name. John 15:16
4. The King of Kings meets us halfway – we do our best and He does the rest and gives us the blessings of His goodness and mercy that follow us all the days of our lives. Psalms 23:6
5. God extends our lives to ensure we complete our commission for the kingdom and command to share His love.
6. God honours those who honour Him, glory is a weightiness, substance and splendour in our lives. Glory means honour and power and wealth, authority, magnificence, dignity and excellence, rejoice for His glory is on you!
7. God has made his Kings and priests a blessing in the earth, not only are we blessed, but we also have a promise that our children will have peace, be taught of the Lord and be a blessing to others. Isaiah 54:13
8. We have found joy in believing and in His presence, there is fullness of joy, at His right hand is life forevermore. Psalms 16:11
9. Kings and Priests place their confident trust in the Lord, not in any other source.
10. God says you shall not be moved! No storm, attack, slander, device of the Devil will move you, you are built on the rock of Jesus Christ on the foundation of apostles and prophets with Jesus the chief cornerstone. Ephesians 2:20
Focus on the Lord and bow before His throne of grace. As you pray, identify the threats to your joy of salvation, and lay them before the Lord’s feet. See the Lord place His foot on all your enemies of your soul, see how He overcomes all your threats in righteousness and glorify the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords as your Lord and Saviour. Your joy will break forth like the morning and you will ride on the high hills with the Lord over all the attempts of the enemy to destroy the work of your hands. Victory is yours in Jesus’ name and the kings and priests shall have joy in His strength!
