Preach Jesus to them!

When Philip preached to the Ethiopian Eunuch, he met him on the road and began at the scripture that he was reading.

Act 8:32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this: “HE WAS LED AS A SHEEP TO THE SLAUGHTER; AND AS A LAMB BEFORE ITS SHEARER IS SILENT, SO HE OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH.
Act 8:33 IN HIS HUMILIATION HIS JUSTICE WAS TAKEN AWAY, AND WHO WILL DECLARE HIS GENERATION? FOR HIS LIFE IS TAKEN FROM THE EARTH.”
Act 8:34 So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?”
Act 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

In order to equip the saints to do the work of an evangelist we need to be able to see Christ in every scripture. It is a revelation of the Holy Spirit that gives us the power to be witnesses for Jesus and share His Good news with people.

Rom 10:13 For “WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.”
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, WHO BRING GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS!”
Rom 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?”
Rom 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Key words in the process of salvation
• Being sent on a mission
• Preach – a preacher is one who proclaims Jesus’ good news.
• Hear – hearing comes by the word of faith that we preach
• Believe
• Call on the name of the Lord
• Be saved

How faith comes:
“So then, faith is out of a source of that which is being heard, and that which is heard [the message] is through the agency of the Word concerning Christ.” Wuest’s translation.

And, Acts 3:16 “And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”

 
Ways to curate the message to bring people to Christ Jesus.
1. Follow Philip’s growth path: disciple of Jesus, deacon in the church, willing to serve and help, sent on a mission to bring revival.
2. Be led by the Spirit.
3. Expect divine connections.
4. Read the Bible and study to show yourself approved to God, a good worker rightly dividing the Word of Truth concerning Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

5. First listen inwardly and let them ask you a question.
6. Begin at their point of departure and trust the Lord to give you revelation.
7. Follow through the growth phases of salvation and baptisms.
8. Go where the Lord leads you next! Or be translated there like Philip!
