Service Type:

SPIRITUAL VISION
Part of a series on Spiritual Senses, preached by Apostle Aje Pelser
Keys to inlock your spiritual vision:

1. Light
John speaks about the Light. All Vision is linked to Light. Jesus is the Light of the World
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
While Jesus was on the earth – He was the light of the World. Then he transcended his light into his disciples – you are the light of the world.
Mat 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Mat 5:15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
How do we see things, according to God’s light or according to darkness?
Luk 11:34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
Luk 11:35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.
Luk 11:36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”
God has to enlighten the eyes of your understanding – so spiritual vision is linked to divine understanding – for that you need the spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and fear of the Lord.

2. Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Acts 2 explains the source of vision very well. After this, the disciples could also interpret the Old Testament better, according the Messianic, New Covenant perspective of the kingdom of heaven.
New Creation realities – Jesus makes all things new – including your spiritual senses.
Rev 21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

3. The Holy Spirit shows you things to come.
Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
‘shew’ G312 anaggellō; From G303 and the base of G32; to announce (in detail): – declare, rehearse, report, show, speak, tell.

4. God checks your vision – what do you see?
Watchmen in the spirit understand corrective vision. – What lens are you using to discern things?
Hab 2:1 I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.
Hab 2:2 Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.
Also realize that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Rev. 19:10. A prophetic people are tuned into what Jesus is saying to the church today by His Spirit. Prophesy and see visions in alignment with Jesus’ heart for His Bride the Church and you will always be accurate.

5. Remove the pharisee in you and admit your blindness to Christ – and He will forgive you and cleanse you and restore your vision.
Joh 9:39 And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”
Joh 9:40 Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”
Joh 9:41 Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.

6. God gives us eye salve to see – to heal our spiritual vision and ability to see.
Rev 3:17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—
Rev 3:18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
The Laodiceans were used to trading gold, textiles and medicines. They were too busy for God and their façade of spirituality was actually hypocrisy and lukewarmness. (Source: Bibletools.com)

7. The Pure in heart will see God.
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
We understand that the pure in heart will see God. The first of this series of sermons dealt with the heart – to cleanse our hearts and forgive others helps to restore all our senses.
It takes practice to exercise your spiritual senses – to discern good and evil, to do His will and to finish it.

Application
• As you stand praying, forgive anyone that comes up in your heart and find mercy for them in God’s throne of grace. You mya also must forgive yourself for missing the mark of God’s calling at times.
• Pray in the spirit and ask God for visions and the gifts of the Spirit to flow through you.
• When you get a glimpse of something, meditate on it in the same way the Psalmist said “Selah” – a meditative pause to consider what God has shown you.
• The Holy Spirit will remind you of scriptures and other linked prophetic words and visions you have seen before. Or if this is your first time, just enjoy the moment and don’t overthink it.
• Journal what you see and the thoughts along with it.
• Ask a trusted friend or Christian worker that cares for you to help you judge the visons, as you would any prophetic word too.
• Does it line up with Jesus’ New Covenant – is there some form of good news in the vision, albeit conditionally if there are warnings and exhortations attached to it?
• D you discern kingdom values of righteousness, peace, and joy in believing and the Holy Spirit?
• If so, you can pursue it confidently with advice from your spiritual shepherds. If not, then question the source of the vision and pray to bind that demonic influence that has clouded your spiritual lenses. God will quickly help you overcome it if you ask in Jesus’ name.
• God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Tim. 1:7
• Anything else must bow and every high thing and argument that exults itself against the knowledge of Christ you can cast it down – it must bow before the feet of Jesus.
2 Cor. 10:4-6
