Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser, harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town. January 2026.01.16
Scripture Reading
Jos 1:10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
Jos 1:11 “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you to possess.’ ”
Jos 1:12 And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh Joshua spoke, saying,
Jos 1:13 “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, ‘The LORD your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.’
Jos 1:14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them,
Jos 1:15 until the LORD has given your brethren rest, as He gave you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the LORD your God is giving them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD’s servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrise.”
Jos 1:16 So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.
Jos 1:17 Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the LORD your God be with you, as He was with Moses.
Jos 1:18 Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.”
Preparations to Cross over and possess your land.
1. Prepare Provisions. Five-fold ministries are to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Pleroma – is a picture of a ship filled with provisions, soldiers, food, ammunition with one purpose to cross over and fulfil a specific commission. Col. 1:19; Eph. 1:22,23 Jesus is God’s fulness for us – all we need in already in Him. Exploring who we are in Christ and Christ within our hope of glory releases fulness. Fulness also spills into occupation of new territories.
2. Understand Three Days. Jesus was in the tomb three days. John 2:19. Jonah in the fish – before he was released at his commission prophetic destination. Jonah 1:17. The third day Gospel, destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up. God lays waste to man’s plans and schemes and raises up His church in His image. Eph. 4:11-16.
3. Cross over – the crossing over of God’s people is a supernatural prosperity that is strategic and based on Divine commands and commissions. It strikes fear in the enemy, and they see how the Lord stops the waters from drowning us. Their hearts are melting because of our God, and they know we are coming.
4. Possess what God has given you. Josh. 1:15 Take possession and enjoy it! The God of hope fills us with joy and peace in believing, as we take possession of all things He has released and appointed for us. Rom. 15:13
5. Remember the Word God gave Moses. Josh. 1:13 The Lord is giving you rest and is giving you this land. Wage a good warfare with our prophecies. 1 Tim. 1:18
6. Enter the rest of faith. Heb. 4:1,2
7. Put on full Armour of God. Eph. 6
8. Help Your Brothers. Phil. 2:1-12
9. Transfer of allegiance from Moses to Joshua. Josh. 1:16-18 Understand the vision of the new leader and accompany the crossing over together. Submission is mutually beneficial and brings you through the challenges to your inheritance together.
