Keys that Open Kingdom Doors
Keys that Open Kingdom Doors
Here are some keys that will open doors for you to share the Gospel and love of Jesus with a soul:
Col 4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
Col 4:3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,
Col 4:4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
Col 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
1. Key of Prayer: it is essential to live a life of prayer like Jesus. He was often alone in prayer. Find a secret place in God and pray through every issue of life. Persistence is the key:
Luk 11:2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Luk 11:3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
Luk 11:4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”
Luk 11:5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;
Luk 11:6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’;
Luk 11:7 and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?
Luk 11:8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
Luk 11:9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Luk 11:10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
2. Key of Thanksgiving
When you want to honour someone, an attitude of gratitude goes a long way to opening the door of relationship and communication. This works with our Father in heaven, as well as with your circles of friends and further influence. Saying “thank you” is the easiest way to show respect and reveal your values. We are to make our requests and petitions in prayer know with thanksgiving, then God promises His peace to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
aPhp 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Php 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
3. Key of Open Doors
People are doors. Jesus said it too “I am the door of the sheep.” Ask God for open hearts for the seed of the word to be sown. The soil is the heart. There may be stones there – hardness of heart. There may be weeds there too. Read through Matt. 13 where Jesus explains the parable of the Sower. If you understand that parable, you will understand all parables.
4. Key of Mysteries
By God’s Spirit he explains mysteries to us. To access God’s plan and provision and grace for our lives, we need to step into a spiritual realm of living.
1Co 2:9 But as it is written: “EYE HAS NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NOR HAVE ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN THE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
1Co 2:10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
Make people curious about your walk with God. Show them mystery and wait for them to ask you concerning the hope that you have. People often ask me “How do you do it?” When that happens, use the key of mysteries to unlock the wonders of God and His higher ways to them.
5. Manifesting grace
Grace is a divine ability to achieve seemingly impossible things. We access grace by spending time with the Lord – enter the throne of grace to help you find grace and mercy in your time of need. For me, the key has been to also ask for grace and mercy for others! It’s not just about us anymore. But there is a balance in our prayer lives – Dr Gray used to say, that when we pray, we should love others as we love ourselves in prayer too! Wise words.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
6. Walking in wisdom
We access Godly wisdom by faith and through the acknowledgement of the Holy Spirit constantly in our lives.
Study James chapter 3 to find out more about earthly and demonic wisdom versus the wisdom that is from above, from our Father.
Application: What did you discover about wisdom?
7. Redeeming the time
“Time is the coin of heaven.” You only have one life on earth; make it count and don’t let the enemy rob your time. If you seek first God’s kingdom every day, He will take care of so many other things we think we need to take care of… prayer and Bible reading prioritizes your spirit, soul and body and eliminates time wasters.
Application: Can you identify some time wasters in your life?
8. Speak with grace – add some salt.
We are the light of the world, the salt of the earth. Remember that salt is a preservative and a flavouring. You preserve those in your circles by adding the salt of the Gospel to their lives and you also add the right flavour to every conversation. It prevents rottenness from setting in – whenever the atmosphere seems to go off in the wrong direction you can steer it by adding a salt comment from the Word. Those who heed it will be saved and those who don’t will continue in their decay. Read also Matthew 5 to understand the principles of the King for His kingdom.
TO summarize:
If we pray with thanksgiving in the name of Jesus, we will discern open doors to share the mysteries of God, with grace and wisdom seasoned with salt with perfect timing!
