Joy of Our Salvation

Service Type:

Joy of Our Salvation
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser, Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town

Introduction
Jesus is the joy of our salvation. He rejoiced when the world was created and his delight is in us, His creation. There is joy in the centre the universe that great composers like Beethoven tapped into to release unlimited creativity. It is important to read the scriptures out loud when you go through these notes and to pray them into your life. You hear the preached word about joy and faith comes by that hearing. You reinforce it by reading it out loud again, and then a third time by praying it into your daily life. After a while, your whole being is aligned with God’s eternal joy, connected to the Holy Spirit in His presence in all things.

Here are origins that restore your joy of salvation.

Wells of Salvation
The wells of salvation have joy for us. Isa 12:3 Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation.
At the end of our faith we tap the wells of salvation. Faith has to be tested and we have to confess our faith and act it out. When you find an eternal well of life in Jesus, you have joy forever.
1Pe 1:8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
1Pe 1:9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

Living waters gush out the joy of the Holy Spirit.
Springing up of living water G242 ‘hallomai’ (pronounced ‘hal’-lom-ahee’)
to jump; figuratively to gush: – leap, spring up.

When your enemy falls and your disciples are victorious
Jesus rejoiced when the disciples were used of God and he saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. ‘Rejoiced” Strong’s Concordance agalliaō, promounced (ag-al-lee-ah’-o)
From ἄγαν agan (much) and G242; properly to jump for joy, that is, exult: – be (exceeding) glad, with exceeding joy, rejoice (greatly).

Joy and peace
when the God of hope fills you with Joy: God fills you with all joy and peace according to your faith in Jesus.
Rom 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Restored Joy
God can restore the joy of your salvation. This song has been playing on my spiritual playlist for a few weeks now:
Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psa 51:11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Psa 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
Psa 51:13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.

The Joy of the Lord is our source of strength
Neh 8:10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

His Kingdom
Seeking His Kingdom releases eternal joy
Rom 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Joy of your Heart
Ecc 5:20 For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.
When your thoughts mill around all the regrets and failures of life, or even if you get nostalgic about the success of the past, thinking it may never be that good again, think again! Let God keep you busy with the joy of your heart. Identify what that is and pour yourself into it. Your treasure is where your heart it and your heart has to be in it to release the treasure.
Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Repentance
Repentance releases the refreshing joy of salvation
Act 3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Likewise when one sinner comes to repentance, heaven rejoices
Luk 15:10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

God’s Presence
In God’s presence there is fullness of joy
Act 2:25 For David says concerning Him: ‘I FORESAW THE LORD ALWAYS BEFORE MY FACE, FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, THAT I MAY NOT BE SHAKEN.
Act 2:26 THEREFORE MY HEART REJOICED, AND MY TONGUE WAS GLAD; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL REST IN HOPE.
Act 2:27 FOR YOU WILL NOT LEAVE MY SOUL IN HADES, NOR WILL YOU ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO SEE CORRUPTION.
Act 2:28 YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF JOY IN YOUR PRESENCE.’

Joy is an anointing
Isa 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Isa 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,
Isa 61:3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

Psalms 45:7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.
The oil of gladness is the joy in the Holy Ghost – the joy unspeakable and full of glory. Let Him fill you and restore the joy of your salvation!
