Grace for this time in your life

Each season is carefully planned by God especially for you and contains opportunities and blessing as well as tests and trials. It is His appointed time for you and I. He has pre-ordained your season and you need to look to Him for wisdom to know your season.

The Holy Spirit has spoken to me on many occasions and various ways to preach and teach on Grace. Most people do not understand grace. It is a difficult concept to describe. But as we preach about God’s grace, faith arises in the hearts of the hearers. May the Holy Spirit paint a clear picture about grace in your heart as you meditate on the word of God with me.

What has God graced you to do? What can you speak graciously about?
Ask for grace in areas that you lack graciousness. God wants his children to become gracious people who can demonstrate the grace of God to a lost world. Grace in your home, grace in you business, grace in your relationships, grace in the midst of tribulation. He will crown your life with grace and divine favour when you are a child, when you go through mid-life transitions and when you are old. His grace is sufficient for you and makes you who you are!

Let us look at accomplishments of grace described in the Word of God that will help us to believe that His grace is sufficient for us at any time in our lives.

I am what I am by the grace of God
I Corinthians 15:10

There was great grace upon the first Church in Jerusalem.
Acts 4:33

God gives grace to the humble.
Proverbs 3:34; I Peter 5:5

The Spirit of Grace makes people look to the Crucified One
Zechariah 12:10
10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ, the law by Moses
John 1:17
17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Great grace releases great power as apostles gave witness about the resurrection
Acts 4:33
33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

Grace on your children makes them strong in spirit and fills them with wisdom
Luke 2:40
40 And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.

By grace we receive the ability to reign in this life through Christ
Romans 5:15-17
15 But the free gift is not like the offence. For if by the one man’s offence many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offence resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offences resulted in justification.17 For if by the one man’s offence death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

Grace brings joy and liberality even in the midst of trials
2 Corinthians 8:1-6
Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia:2 that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.3 For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,4 imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.5 And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.6 So we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this grace in you as well.

God’s grace is always sufficient for me
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The riches of grace brings redemption and forgiveness
Ephesians 1:7

Those who go back into the bondage of rules and regulations fall from grace
Galatians 5:4

We are saved by grace through faith
Ephesians 2:5,8
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Grace and peace can be multiplied
1 Peter 1:2
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Hebrews 4:16
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Grace can be found if you really desire it
Genesis 6:8: Noah found grace in the sight of the Lord.
The Hebrew word for find is ‘matsah’ (pronounced ‘maw-tsaw’) It implies finding something that was lost and at the same time being discovered. In the Hebrew mind it is something that befalls you or happens to you. It speaks of possessing the thing you find. What you find is also sufficient: exactly what you require at that moment.
Grace: Gr. ‘charis’, Hebrew: Chanan pronounced ‘khane’- kindness, favour (well-flavoured), pleasant, to stoop in kindness towards someone. Hebrew for Grace includes the concept of being compassionate towards someone, to bestow plentifully, to give graciously and even create giving opportunities!

Exodus 33:19
19 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
1 Kings 10:1 The prophet Hanani (Chanani) means to be gracious.
God does not promise us a trouble free life but he does promise sufficient grace for every season in our lives from the cradle to the moment he comes to take us away!

Grace for every season of life
(See Robert Munyien’s book on Seasons of Life for more detail)
One of the laws of nature that has been established for ever is the law of the four seasons: there will always be summer, winter, autumn and spring. As sure as there will be day and night, as sure as there is a sun and a moon and stars above: there will be seasons. There is a time to enjoy the summer but there are times that everything will be covered with the frost of winter. New things will spring up in spring and in autumn dead leaves will fall. God has created it that way. But thank God: He gives us sufficient grace for every season.

THE CHILDHOOD SEASON
A child needs a positive family to learn to trust. If there is no love they see the world as a place that you cannot trust. . It is hard for people to find themselves. Through the series of events and people they meet they go through transformation. If you are moving your character through the transformation process you have to make it smoothly.
