Discovering Wisdom in You

Reading through the Words of Wisdom in the Bible reveals some actions of the wise. God’s Spirit lives in those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, we need to be reminded to discover His wisdom within our spirit, and to live out the words of wisdom with understanding.

Actions of the Wise:
Proverbs 1:5
“The Wise will also hear and increase in learning, and the person of understanding will acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so that he may be able to steer his course rightly]” Amplified Bible
Hear –
Increase Learning –
Acquire Skill –
Attain to sound Counsel –
All the former actions enable a person to “Steer his Course rightly”.

Link with Proverbs 9:9
“Give instruction to a wise man and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man (one upright and in right standing with God) and he will increase in learning.”
The effect of instruction in our lives determines the level of wisdom as well. Stubbornness prevents someone from becoming wise and limits development to the constraints of set opinions, “wise in his own eyes…”
Righteousness allows one to increase learning. Jesus paid the price for our righteousness – it is a free gift for those who believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died fro our sins and rose again to fulfil all the righteous requirements of the Law, using his own blood as a propitiation and offering for the remission of our sins. For there is no remission without the shedding of blood.

Proverbs 9:10
“The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.
For by me [Wisdom from God] you days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be multiplied.
Reverence –
Worshipful fear –
Knowledge of the Holy One –

Results:
By wisdom our days are multiplied …

Proverbs 10:14
“Wise men store up knowledge [in mind and heart], but the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.

By the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, we have access to God’s Wisdom. It therefore remains that we should start to discover His wisdom within us, as we explore the realm of God’s Spirit within. I believe it I a journey of discovery. Sometimes others share the wisdom of God with us and if we are wise, we hear God speaking through them. At other times, a sure knowledge of the correct course of action rises up from our deepest parts and illuminates our wave-tossed minds.

Prophecy of the End Times:
Dan 12:1 And at that time Michael shall stand up, the great ruler who stands for the sons of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation; until that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Dan 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Dan 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the sky; and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever.
Dan 12:4 But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Lead many to righteousness
Let us be wise and turn many to righteousness and shine for Jesus like the stars, forever. That’s the wisdom God wants us to discover!

There are so many wonderful scriptures that can teach us to be wise, here is a scripture that summarizes synergy of wisdom, understanding and knowledge:
Pro 24:3 Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established;
Pro 24:4 and by knowledge the rooms shall be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Pro 24:5 A wise man is strong; yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.
Pro 24:6 For by wise counsel you shall make your war; and in a multitude of wise men there is safety.

Remember the Spirit of the Lord is in us:
Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
