Crucified Life
Crucified Life
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser
Gal 2:18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
Gal 2:19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God.
Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Gal 2:21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”
Gal 3:1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?
Before we can move to living by the Spirit and righteousness through faith in Jesus, we have to understand the crucified life.
Here are some characteristics of a crucified life that we learn from the heroes of faith in the Bible:
1. Willingness to lay down your life.
Joh 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
Php 2:17 Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
2. A life of faith in the Son of God. Joh 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
3. Understanding of Jesus’ love.
Joh 15:12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
4. Obedience to the truth.
Joh 15:14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
Joh 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
Joh 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
5. Correct valuation of the grace of God.
Pro 3:32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD, But His secret counsel is with the upright.
Pro 3:33 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just.
Pro 3:34 Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.
Pro 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.
Zec 12:10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
Grace came through Jesus:
Joh 1:16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.
Joh 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Joh 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
