COMMUNION; COMMISSION; COMPASSION; CARE
Communion
Remembrance of the Lord’s Body, discerning His Church and how we fit into it, is part of communion. Every time we gather we remember and celebrate the body of Christ, access the bread of life and utilize the washing and regenerative power of His Blood – the super-detergent that turns scarlet sin into worthy white wool!
Luk 22:19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, \”This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.\”
Luk 22:20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, \”This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
If we love Him we obey his commandments – communion with Christ Jesus will always change our nature and make us more like Him. He preached love and so do we, by His Spirit the fruit of love is cultivated until we learn to love Him and others like He loved us first
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Joh 13:35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.\”
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
The concept of fellowship is simply described by Apostle Andre Pelser as two fellows in a ship going in the same direction, enduring the same hardships and staying in the boat together until they reach their desired destination.
Being part of an accurate local church makes the cleansing process even easier. A body has a circulatory system that delivers oxygen to the important muscles so that they can function. Then the carbon dioxide and impurities get removed through the same blood and conveyed to the lungs from where they are expelled. White blood cells fight virus and bacterial infections. Blood platelets help the blood to coagulate and clot – so that the bruised area can be healed. This will not happen if a limb is not part of the body!
Commission
From that place of assurance and acceptance in the Beloved Church of Jesus Christ, from that communion you can flow into commission – not the other way around!
Read the scripture where Jesus commissions us:
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, \”All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.\” Amen.
The perspective that Jesus is always with us by His Spirit, helps us to fulfill His great commission for our lives.
The commission is to make disciples of all nations. By His Grace we are doing our share in 4 continents already. Not just holding a meeting but setting up churches with Bible Colleges and equipping the saints in 7 different languages in over a 100 nations! Glory to God!
Tap into Jesus’ authority to make disciples of all nations and transcend cultural, political and socio-economic boundaries like Joseph and Daniel and the apostles of the New Testament.
Jesus also added that we should baptize them and teach them all things that He commanded. We study the Life of Christ and the Book of Acts of the apostles bi-annually as a church. There is a flow of teaching that never stops in this move of God – daily across the world!
Compassion
When Jesus heard that his relative John was dead, he wanted to be alone like anyone else. But then the people found him and instead of chasing them away, he was moved with deep emotion for them and healed them. Then he also fed them!
Mat 14:13 When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities.
Mat 14:14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.
Compassion is pity that has gone into action. It isn’t enough to say “Ag Shame!” like South Africans like to say! That does not achieve anything. When we are low, we can draw from the bowls of Jesus’ compassion for the multitudes and help others. This shows a higher dimension of living.
Care
Apostle Paul sent his protégé Timothy to eh Philippian Church:
Php 2:19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state.
Php 2:20 For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state.
Php 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.
This was where Apostle Paul and Prophet Silas were stripped and beaten with rods after casting out spirit of divination from a slave girl who brought her master profit by telling fortunes. When she was freed, their chance of making money had vanished and they had Paul and Silas thrown into stocks in the innermost prison. When the mission team started singing at midnight, the Lord caused an earthquake to rock the prison open and the jailer wanted to commit suicide but Paul stopped him saying all the prisoners were still there. Later the jailer and his whole household were saved
Later that church was the only church that really backed Apostle Paul on his missions:
Php 4:10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.
Php 4:14 Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress.
Php 4:15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.
Php 4:16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.
Php 4:17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
Php 4:18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.
Php 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
That is the key to Apostolic blessing and a supply line that never runs dry. You are fulfilling God’s dream for the Church – the mission of preparing the Bride of Christ for the Wedding Feast!
When you help God with His Dream the Church, He makes your dreams come true!
