Commitments from God that sustains His covenant:
As you read this passage, use the key of David to unlock it by faith in your life. We have covered much about the Tabernacle and key of David in previous sermons that are available. Do some of your own research too and enjoy the process of discovery and revelation. God will show you great and mighty things if you are willing to linger in His presence and study his word to show yourself approved to God, a good worker, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Bible passage
1Ch 17:8 And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men who are on the earth.
1Ch 17:9 Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously,
1Ch 17:10 since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. Also I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you a house.
1Ch 17:11 And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
1Ch 17:12 He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.
1Ch 17:13 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you.
1Ch 17:14 And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever.” ‘ ”
God’s Covenant commitments with the nation:
• Appoint a place: consider the places God has given you to possess, where you can operate and function for His kingdom and represent His Bride the glorious Church as a beacon of hope in your community.
• Plant them: You will shoot root and bear fruit! Christians who hop from church to church, never committing, can not expect God’s covenant commitments with them either.
o Isa_27:6 Those who come He shall cause to take root in Jacob; Israel shall blossom and bud, And fill the face of the world with fruit.
o Isa_37:31 And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah Shall again take root downward, And bear fruit upward.
• Move them no more: We are used to moving around and going where God has sent us. In a promised land experience, there is a shift towards nation building and establishing more sustainable worship and training that will then be released throughout the kingdom.
• Remove oppression: there is a sense of occupy and conquer in this phase where David has waged wars to subdue the enemies of God and His nation. From those battles, there is spoil and annual tributes from the nations.
• Subdue their enemies: When God’s people conquer and subdue their enemies, there is peace and Solomon’s kingdom experienced 40 years of peace – a whole generation that experiences the fulness of ‘Jehovah Shalom’ which includes peace and prosperity on all levels.
God’s covenant commitments with the king:
1. I will establish his kingdom and I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever.
2. He shall Build Me a house.
3. I will establish his throne forever.
