3 Fold Secret Place

3 Fold Secret Place
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser
Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town

1. Your Life is hidden with Christ
2. in God.
Col 3:3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
3. Sealed by the Holy Spirit
Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

We learn to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus and in so doing we seem lost to the world. We become hidden from the media and find a safety in obscurity. Then when the Lord permits He reveals Christ through us to our friends and our spheres of influence and all of a sudden we appear with Him in glory, expect that now we willingly give any glory derived from success to Jesus.
We do not seek our own will and desires, but are confirmed to the image of God’s son by His spirit.
When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour we are saved from the scrutiny of everyday life. The world bites and devours its own. We are hidden with Christ in God. We have the Son and we also have the Father at home within us! The fact that we keep His words, keeps us in Him and in the Father. We understand that submission between Father, Son and Holy Spirit and we enter that unity wherein lies the secret life of power and glory.
The third fold of the secret place is covered by the seal of the Holy Spirit. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit as a helper, a comforter and also a seal of promise. When people ask us about Jesus and his return and what heaven is to us, the seal of the Holy Spirit shows them signs and wonders following us who believe and we remain hidden from doubt and fear and criticism of our faith. The sword that the spirit wields is in our mouth and we use it to fight and hide in a fortress of peace that garrisons our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Glory to God for His three fold secret place of His kingdom – and that we find within ourselves, not in outward dead works, rituals or even religious organization.
This move of God is also hidden in the 3 fold secret place. The same applies to a church that embraces the life of Jesus Christ and allows the Holy Spirit to operate in its meetings and church life, convicting of sin, righteousness and judgment.
Examples of Lives hidden in the 3 fold Secret Place:
Moses spoke to God face to face in the secret place of the tabernacle where no one else could enter.

Daniel entered the secret place of spiritual strategy and visions and fulfilled prophecy for his nations through a life of prayer and seeking God.
Dan 10:12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.

David understood the secret place of God’s gentleness that made him great. He unlocked the power of prophetic praise and worship and by faith understood that God liked the high praises of His people more than ritual sacrifices that could not cleanse the conscience. God found I David a man after his own heart, who would do all his will.
The Prophets in the Bible found that secret place of communication with God when the nation could neither see nor hear the Word of the Lord. God showed Elisha secret strategies of the enemy:
2Ki 6:12 And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

God revealed to Peter the secret of Jesus being the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Mat 16:15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Mat 16:16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Mat 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Mat 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

He also received a hidden revelation of the Gentiles to be saved.
Act 10:10 Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance
Act 10:11 and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth.
Act 10:12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.
Act 10:13 And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
Act 10:14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
Act 10:15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.”

Peter saw that hidden value of inner beauty
1Pe 3:4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

God revealed the secrets and mysteries of the church to Apostle Paul:
1Co 4:1 Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.
1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,
1Co 2:10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
Eph 1:9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
Eph_3:3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,
Eph_3:4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),
Eph_3:9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things
Eph_5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Eph_6:19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Col_1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
2Th_2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
1Ti_3:9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.
1Ti_3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

Rev_1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.
Rev_10:7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

Take heart that your life is hidden with Christ in God, sealed by the Holy Spirit. That is something my father showed us early in ministry. That 3 fold layer of protection and power. This concept keeps us in His love and confident that He who started a good work in us will complete it! Lately, there has been a renewed focus on what Jesus is busy doing in his church. What the enemy does fades into insignificance as Jesus builds His church and the gates of hell cannot prevail against the flood of the rising Spirit of God in us and Christ within us, the hope of Glory!
