Access Points to Virtue
Virtue
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser
Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town. November 2016
Scripture:
Mark 5:30
Mar 5:25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
Mar 5:26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
Mar 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
Mar 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Mar 5:29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
Mar 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
Mar 5:31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
Mar 5:32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
Mar 5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Mar 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Access Points for Virtue that bring your Miracle
1. Hearing of faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. When she heard of Jesus she decided to access His virtue for her healing.
2. Determination through the Pressure. “She came in the press behind….” Shows her amazing determination in the face of rejection. A woman with an issue of blood was a social outcast as Dr Gray writes: “A poor woman, literally \”poor”, who had spent all her savings on physicians: what her social position was before she came to this state of destitution we do not know. Her trouble made her a social outcast, ceremonially unclean – for it was the popular conception that this trouble was the result of personal sin – excommunicated from Temple and synagogue, divorced from husband, shut out from family life – penniless, friendless, ostracized. Terrible picture. This poor woman, weak, wan (weak and tired), emaciated, came to Jesus. But now we understand her diffidence, in contrast to the boldness of Jairus. We see what her sickness has done for her body, soul, and spirit. Could we call this sickness a blessing from God?” Excerpt from “Life of Christ Answers MBC Manual.” Course Material Available from aje@harvesterchurch.net
3. Contact Point of Faith – she had to reach out and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Your faith needs a contact point, like electricity needs a contact point to flow and achieve the desired result of heat, light or motion.
4. Confession of Faith. She had said: “If I touch His clothes I shall be made whole…” You need to line up your thoughts, words and action of faith in order to access the virtue of Jesus.
5. Healing is accessed through Virtue – once she accessed virtue her blood flow stopped and she knew she was healed.
6. Approval of virtue. Jesus’ seals her healing with his Word: “Daughter your faith has made you well, go in peace and be healed of your affliction.”
