Tribes of Church Continued
Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser, Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town
10 May 2015
To continue our study of the character traits of Jesus and His Church derived from the names of the sons of Israel, we will look at the next four sons: Dan; Naphtali; Gad and Asher.
1. Dan, “Judge”: God judges righteously. In church we judge prophecies. There’s judgment and council.
Statutes of God’s Righteous Judgment
Conviction of Judgment comes by the Holy Spirit
Joh_16:8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Joh_16:11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
You can determine your Level of Personal Judgment
Mat 7:1 \”Judge not, that you be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Mat 7:3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother\’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how can you say to your brother, \’Let me remove the speck from your eye\’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?
Mat 7:5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother\’s eye.
The Father has committed all judgment to the Son – so that the Son may be honoured
Joh 5:21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.
Joh 5:22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
Joh 5:23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
Joh 5:24 \”Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
In the true church, registered in heaven, we stand before God the Judge of All and Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant
Heb 12:23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Heb 12:24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.
God the Righteous Judge gives the Crown of Righteousness
2Ti 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2Ti 4:8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
We can judge matters, but not write people off; we will one day judge Angels with God.
Co 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
1Co 6:2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1Co 6:3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
Danites were gifted artisans and architects of the Tabernacle & Temple
Ex. 31:6 wisdom in the heart of Dan; gifted artisan to make all God commanded Moses for the ark & Tabernacle –
Aholiab. Engraver; designer; weaver. Aholiab means: “Father’s Tent” which is exactly what the Tabernacle became. Today we rebuild the Father’s Tent of worship that David built!
His father’s name Ahisamach means: “My brother is support (has supported). So with the support of the Brotherhood in Christ we can rebuild the tabernacle of Worship in our generation with skill and design and accuracy – our Father’s tenet restored to glory!
The interesting thing about this Danite is that he is supporting someone from the tribe of Judah – Jesus’ tribe – Bezaleel = “in the shadow (i.e. protection) of God”
“a skilled Judahite artisan in all works of metal, wood, and stone and one of the architects of the tabernacle” Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Definitions.
Huram – a descendant of Dan helped David and Solomon with the designs and finishing’s of the temple. 2 Chron. 2:13,14.
2. Naphtali, “My wrestling”: Eph. 6:12, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities. 2 Cor. 10:4-5 our weapons are mighty in God. Eph. 6:10, the armour of God. We also wage the good warfare by the prophecies previously made concerning us (1 Tim 1:18). Jesus also went to live in Capernaum – the land of Zebulun and Naphtali have seen a great light. Matt. 4:13,14. Israel prophesied that Naphtali would use beautiful words – the beautiful Word of God lived in the region for a time! See notes on a true Hebrew by Apostle Andre Pelser.
3. Gad, “Troop” or “Fortune”: the Church is God’s troop, He uses us, we are his army. Jeremiah 29:11, God has good plans towards you, to prosper us, to give us hope and a future. There’s fortune in the Church, we are like precious stones, our faith is more precious than gold, there are riches in the saints. Your treasure is where your heart is – read: Luke 12:34 – in the context of seeking God’s kingdom first and all those things we need will be added unto us.
4. Asher ,“Happy”: Psalm 28:7, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Rom 15:13, God fills us with joy, and our joy is not in what we have or what we don’t have but it’s in believing. One of the foundation stones in Heb. 11:6 is faith towards God. That\’s how we please Him and that’s our joy: believing in Christ. God rejoices over us with singing too! Zephaniah 3:17.
He will dip his feet in oil. That means his footprints will leave anointing wherever he goes!
Consider the significance of feet in the New Testament.
Jesus’ washing His disciple’s feet. John 13.
How beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim the good news of the Gospel. Romans 10:15
Have your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. Ephesians 6:15
The God of will soon crush Satan underneath your feet. Romans 16:20
