Fear Not
Reason to Fear Not!
By Apostle Aje Pelser
Preached at Harvester Reformational Church, Cape Town. 9 March 2014
Isaiah 43:1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: \””Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.
Isa 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isa 43:3 For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
The Prophet Isaiah gives us many reasons to fear not, that builds up our faith to believe God’s Promises.
God tells us not to fear. Often!
Read also Philippians chapter 4 where we are told not to be anxious for anything. The remedy for anxiety is prayers and supplications with thanksgiving. The giving of thanks makes us think of the things God constantly does in our lives and the countless times He has provided for us and protected us.
God Made You
When you create something it becomes precious to you. You take care of it and consider how long it took to perfect. We are the firstfruits of God’s creatures – as Pastor Billy Strauss preached the other night at Harvester, the power of the Word is that it brings us forth – crates us to be who God called us to be. James 1:18
God has redeemed You by Jesus’ Blood & Paid our ransom.
When John the Baptist was born to make straight the way for Jesus Christ:
Luk 1:68 \””Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people,
Jesus Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law and opened up its blessing for those who believe:
Gal 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, \””CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE\””),
Gal 3:14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Eph 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
The Holy Spirit serves as guarantee in our hearts until we are finally redeemed at the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ redeemed at the final judgment of the world:
Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
We Are Redeemed and Delivered by the blood of Jesus
Col 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
Col 1:14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
God calls you by name.
In Revelation one of the rewards for overcoming is that God writes His name on us.
Rev 3:7 \””And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, \’These things says He who is holy, He who is true, \””HE WHO HAS THE KEY OF DAVID, HE WHO OPENS AND NO ONE SHUTS, AND SHUTS AND NO ONE OPENS\””:
Rev 3:8 \””I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
Rev 3:9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.
Rev 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
Rev 3:11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
Rev 3:12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
Rev 3:13 \””He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.\”” \’
For overcoming Balaam and the Nicolaitan doctrine in churches, God gives us a white stone with a new name written on it, that no one else knows. It is interesting that people will often ask us who we are, and yet we have traversed the world and met millions of people with the Gospel. God reveals certain things just for you, so that you can know who you are in Christ Jesus.
Apostle Andre Pelser writes about modern Nicolaitans:
“Jesus warned the churches in Revelation that he hates Jezebel and the Nicolaitans. Jezebel seduces the men of God and leads their hearts astray from God. The Nicolaitans are the wealthy and influential lay men who take over the leadership of the church from the ones placed there by God. Denominational church boards often become the modern Nicolaitans, telling the pastor what to do. They have this philosophy among church board members: pastors come and go but church boards remain, therefore the church board should rule the church and the pastor works for the church board. Yet the church board members never attend prayer meetings and never participate when the church fasts and prays! Jesus hates it if unqualified people take over the leadership of the church.
The reason why these things are so is because there is no apostolic authority in churches any more.”
A righteous man judges all things but he himself is rightly judged by no one…1Co 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1Co 2:15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
Rev 2:12 \””And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, \’These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword:
Rev 2:13 \””I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan\’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
Rev 2:15 Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
Rev 2:16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
Rev 2:17 \””He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.\”” \’
God also calls you “MINE”
This lines up with the fact that He writes His name and His city’s name on you!
God is with you in the waters and through the Fire
Our Brothers and Sisters in the Philippines will take comfort when they hear these words – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.”
Think of Daniel’s friends in the furnace. The Fourth Man was “like the Son of God” Jesus was there with them.
Dan 3:24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counsellors, \””Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?\”” They answered and said to the king, \””True, O king.\””
Dan 3:25 \””Look!\”” he answered, \””I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.\””
Dan 3:26 Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, \””Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.\”” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.
Dan 3:27 And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king\’s counsellors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.
Dan 3:28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, \””Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king\’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!
The Great I AM is Your Lord
Get to know the Great I AM that was with Moses at the burning bush, took Israel out of captivity into their promised land.
The Great I Am appeared to successive generations from Joshua, through the period of Judges to Samson, to David, to Solomon at the inauguration of the temple, to the Prophets who spoke up for God and the just kings who brought reformation and the Reformers Ezra and Nehemiah.
TO John the Baptist when he baptized Jesus and the disciples when they beheld the glorious transfiguration of Jesus with Moses and Elijah – to Apostles of the New Testament including Paul, to John at Patmos who wrote the Revelation of Jesus Christ – through the age of persecution of the Roman Empire, through the time of Christendom to those who sought after God in the inner walk.
To the time of enlightenment and reform. Through the persecution of the Anabaptists and the Huguenots.
To the Revivalists who got people born again through faith in Jesus Christ again.
TO the Latter Rain outpouring to the Hoy Spirit in the 20th century, through revivals from generation to generation and the establishment of new moves of God throughout the earth and the restoration of faith teaching, the charismatic move of God releasing the gifts of the spirit to church members.
To the restoration of the office of the prophet to the Body of Christ heralding in the restoration of the office of the Apostle to bring the work of Christ back to its beginnings in the book of Acts in preparation for His final return to a pure and spotless bride, that has made herself ready for the great harvest, the wedding feast of the Lamb in the heavenly Jerusalem the Eternal Church spoken of in Hebrews 12.
