God is able

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we think or ask (Ephesians 3:20)

He’s able He’s able I know my God is able

I know my God is able to carry me through

He healed the broken hearted and set the captives free

The lame He made to walk again and the blind He made to see

He’s able He’s able I know my God is able

I know my God is able to carry me through

We used to sing this chorus over and over again in church when I was a kid and many times we did not even realize what we were singing about. But as I grew up I realized God’s amazing ability.

There are several instances where God displayed His incredible ability to those who dare to put their trust in Him.

To Abraham and Sarah who were childless even in their old age, God was able to give them a son!

God showed Moses that He is able to lead a nation out of slavery to the Promised Land. God performed many miracles, signs and wonders to show His ability to the Jews! He opened the Red Sea when they were pursued by the Egyptian army; He gave them water from a rock when they were thirsty; He poured down Manna from heaven when they were hungry and He turned bitter waters sweet! He healed them after they were bitten by poisonous snakes!

God showed Joshua that He could make a fortified city’s walls crumble and fall at Jericho so that they could go in and conquer it; He showed His great ability to the people by the many Judges that He gave to Israel. Samson single handedly killed 1 000 Philistines! Gideon defeated the Medianites with 300 men! 

Through Samuel, Elijah and Elisha God showed His ability through many miracles that they performed on His behalf. Every word Samuel prophesied never fell to the ground but God performed it so that the people could know that Samuel was a prophet. Elijah prayed earnestly and it stopped raining for three and a half years. Then he prayed again and it rained! Elijah called fire down from heaven to devour a sacrifice to prove there is a God in heaven! Elijah was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind after a chariot of fiery horses and a fiery chariot separated between him and Elisha. Elisha used Elijah’s mantel and opened up a river with it. Elisha captured and entire army after he prayed and God struck them with blindness. Elisha cured Naaman from leprosy.

God’s ability was shown through David who killed Goliath. God’s great wisdom was evident in King Solomon. 

But the greatest revelation of God’s ability came with Jesus of Nazareth who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil for God was with Him. He showed the great ability of God by feeding great crowds of people with a schoolboy’s lunch! He walked on water when storms threatened to devour his disciples.

When Jesus died and was buried in a tomb, God revealed His ability to raise Jesus from the dead! After three days Jesus rose from the dead! He conquered death and the grave and He has the keys of Hades in His hands!

Jesus gave a great commission to His disciples and told them to go and preach the Good News that He is alive and promised to confirm His word with signs and wonders following! Wherever people believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the ability of God was revealed.

Peter, Paul and Silas, all preached the Gospel and God did mighty signs and wonders. Wherever Peter went his shadow even healed people. Cloths from Paul’s body were sent to people for healing and deliverance from evil spirits.

We still serve the same God with the same ability. He is able to do anything! If we believe nothing is impossible for our God!

I heard the story of a little boy in Holland who was disappointed that their family could not afford to purchase tickets to come on holiday in South Africa. They are part of Harvester world membership. His mother told him that God is able to supply their need. The little boy said despondently: ‘what will God drop the money through the door?’ Their mail arrives through a slot at the front door. A week later an envelope was dropped through the door that paid their air tickets to come to South Africa. The mother called the little boy and said, ‘see God is able to drop the money through the door – just like you said!’

My dear friend, I don’t know what odds you are facing, or what struggle you are going through, but today I want to tell you that God is able to help you. He is able to do what no other one can do. He specializes in things thought impossible!

Have you any rivers that you think are uncrossable

Have you any mountains that you can’t tunnel through

God specializes in things thought impossible

In spite of what the doctors can do

Jesus told His disciples to go and wait until they were endued with power from on high. He referred to the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost 50 days after His ascension to heaven: ‘you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit is come upon you and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.’ (Acts 1:8)

The Greek word for power is ‘dunamis’ and it really means ‘ability’. God gives His divine ability to those who believe in Him. His Holy Spirit gives us the ability to tap into God’s ability to help others wherever we go!

I see healings, miracles, provision, divine protection and changes in environment wherever I go. God is able to do anything!

My dear friend put your trust in the Living God right now. Confess with your mouth: ‘God is able to help me!’ Believe it with all your heart. God can change your situation within 24 hours! God knows your need. God understands. God is ready to help you with His mighty right hand. Ask in Jesus Name and you shall receive. Anything is possible in Jesus’ Name.

Right now the power and ability of God is available to anyone that believes this message. Receive that mighty power working on your behalf right now and begin to praise God for your solution! He will save you and heal you, He will deliver you and set you free, He will show you what to do and where to go and He will be a God to you! 

God is able!
