Mission Possible!
Mission Possible!
Preached on 24 March 2013 at the Sunday night meeting at Harvester Milnerton by Apostle Andre Pelser.
No matter how impossible your task in life may appear to you or to others, I have good news for you: your mission is possible if you believe in Jesus Christ!
It is possible to accomplish your mission in life if you put your trust in Jesus Christ. Do not lean unto your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge the Lord and He will make your pathways smooth! Talk to Him about every detail of your life as if you are talking to a trusted friend. Read the Bible as if He is talking back to you. Ask if you do not understand what you are reading. The Holy Spirit will lead and guide you into all truth and even show you things to come. Find out what to do in the Word of God and act accordingly.
Here are some ingredients to make your mission possible!
- Nothing we do is in vain
Isaiah 49: 3, 4: My servant shall not labour in vain. He will be a light to people and restore people to salvation. You have been chosen to do what you must do. Say to those who are imprisoned in traditions or in sin, ‘Go free!’ You may have lost a few times, but now you will win. New opportunities will come to you. New friends will link up with you. Though you are small and despised, Kings and Queens will come to you and admire you! They will have to acknowledge that I the Lord your God is with you! You will set a standard for others to follow.
The testimony of Michael Ambrose in Australia bears repetition here. He and his wife Wendy are some of our lifelong friends made on the mission fields. When he was just a struggling airbrush artist in Brisbane, he became one of the first members of our church called ‘Valley of Blessing’ in Fortitude Valley. I prophesied to him about his work and Nola prophesied to him about his future wife. I told him this verse in Isaiah: though you are small and despised, Kings and Queens will come to admire your art work!’ Nola prophesied: ‘within two weeks you will meet your wife!’
Two weeks later in walks Wendy, a design layout artist, into our church and Michael asks her out for coffee. The rest is history! Nola and I got them married and they have four beautiful children, three girls and one boy.
During the Bicentennial Celebrations of Australia in 1988, the government invited Mike to paint the history of Australia on the ceiling of the Bicentennial Trian. He laid on his back, painting, like Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel in Rome! They called him, ‘The Michelangelo of Australia’ in the Media. When I visited him many years later, he showed me the picture of Queen Elizabeth shaking his hand as she boarded the train to admire his art work! A Sheik from Arabia also came on board! The Prophecy was fulfilled!
- Meditate in the Word to bring results
Isaiah 50:4, 5: As you obey the Word of God, He will give you the tongue of the learned! When you speak and quote the Word, it will leave people speechless!
- We are part of a great spiritual family
Isaiah 51:10, 11: Look to the Rock from which you were hewn, the pit from which you were dug! Look at the material your spirit of faith is made of! You have the same faith as Abraham, the same faith as Peter, you were taken out of the same miry clay of sin and your feet planted on the rock, Jesus Christ! Although you were called alone, many shall be added to you! I will bless you and cause you to increase! You will have gladness of heart and you will sing a new melody! I the Lord who saved Rahab the prostitute; I the Lord who parted the Red Sea so my people could walk through on dry land; I am the Lord your God who will cause sorrow and sighing to flee away! You shall come with singing into your blessing. You shall contend with those who contend with you.
- Our Heavenly Father wants you to succeed
Isaiah 52: 13, 14: Surely My servant (put your name in here :____________) shall succeed in his task and shall be highly honoured! People who are astonished at you now shall marvel when they see what I have in mind for you! You will startle nations!
The Lord Jesus’ face was so marred from all the beating of fists and the pulling of bear, the crown of thorns on his head; his body was so contorted on the cross from excruciating pain that he no longer resembled the bodily form of a human being! He was like a snake writhing on a tree (He said, ‘as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so shall the Son of Man be lifted up…); but eventually He startled nations! Even today He is doing startling acts all over the world through everyone that believes in Him.
- The glory outweighs the suffering
Isaiah 53: 2 – 4: He is despised and rejected of men. A Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised and we did not esteem Him; Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yes we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
- We have a great spiritual inheritance
Isaiah 54: 2, 3: My kindness shall not depart from you. I have laid a precious foundation in your life with precious stones (normally a foundation is filled with rubbish!). This promise is to your children as well and to their children! I promise you increase! (v. 11, 12) ‘No weapon formed against you shall prosper! (v. 17) every tongue that rises against you in judgement you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the lord and their righteousness is from Me,’ says the Lord.
