A sermonhighlighting the wonderful works of Christ that will remind the world that Helives today
Luk7:22 Jesus answered and said to them,"Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that theblind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, thedeaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preachedto them.
Luk7:23 And blessed is he who is notoffended because of Me."
Go and Tell
In orderto go and tell people about Jesus, we need the power of the Holy Spirit. Acts1:8
When wewalk in that power in Jesus name we see the things we read about in our lives.Jesus is alive and well and building His church, we continue to testify of thethings we hear and see today as proof of His resurrection and His imminentreturn! This is the Good News, that Jesus’ power is available to us today!
Things seen and heard
Johnwrites in his epistle:
1Jn 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which wehave heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, andour hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—
1Jn1:2 the life was manifested, and we haveseen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with theFather and was manifested to us—
1Jn1:3 that which we have seen and heard wedeclare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly ourfellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
1Jn1:4 And these things we write to youthat your joy may be full.
Thereason we go and tell others is so taht they can also have fellowship with usand experience the wonderful presence of God in their lives through JesusChrist. So many people go through their lives with a fake religious experienceof the Divine, mysterious and unattainable. But Jesus is the way to Our FatherGod and the relationship is deep, very real, and eternal.
Blind See
Injourneys 25,37,47 we will discover how Jesus healed the blind eyes, but that isjust so that we can have faith for it today, we have seen God heal the blindeyes, even injured eyes, trust Him for your healing right now, and while youread about His miracles and hear preaching about it, faith will rise in yourheart, connect with Him and release your faith by acting on His word.
Dosomething to show your faith in Jesus’ name.
Lame Walk
Somepeople were so convinced about Jesus’ power that they broke through a roof toget to Him! Journey 15 covers that miracle. But I don’t know who covered thedamaged ceiling!
LaterJesus’ disciples did what He did and raised the lame, commanded them to get upand walk, Peter and John and then Paul, who did not walk with Jesus butexperienced Him as we do, supernaturally.
Lepers Cleansed
Jesus hadcompassion on the outcasts of society and cleansed what people called unclean.Journeys 14 and 45 cover that. He also commanded them to show themselves to thePriest so that they will not remain ceremonially unclean and social outcastsforever.
Deaf Hear
Jesuscommanded deaf ears to be opened, and we have experienced His power in thisregard, with reports and testimonies of deaf ears opened during our lifetimes. This healing is available for you – put your finger in your ear and say toit: “In Jesus name be opened!”
Dead Raised
Jesusrose from the dead, but during His life on earth He proved that He had thepower to do it, that built substance of faith for His resurrection and in HisFather’s ability to raise Him from the dead, and in His disciples. We have seenthe dead raised in Jesus name, Beatrice Rodriguez was raised from the dead duringa Bible College class when she fell over against a wall, showing various signsof death: no pulse, no breath in fact there was a death rattle and ApostleAndre and students prayed fro her rebuking the spirit of death. She came backto life and released a pamphlet explaining her ordeal entitled: “I was raisedfrom the dead!” There are other cases as well and we should interview thosepeople too!
Poor have the Gospel Preached to them
In Luke4, Journey 12, Jesus announces that Isaiah’s prophecy was fulfilled in Hislife, its worth reading it and seeing that it is continuing in our lives asfollowers of Christ.
