Return of Christ
God is going to bring revival to South Africa that it will become a Christian nation. South Africa will become a resource base for the whole continent of Africa and become a base for reconcilliation for the rest of the worldThe Return of Christ

Hebrews 11
Matthew 24
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Your faith has to be hooked on a strong basis of hope. No matter how strong your faith is you need to have strong hope. The different way of hearing about the Second Coming of Jesus. Not to satisfy your curiosity. To give some certainties of how we should live as Christians. Most Christians are confused about what they hope for. The Second Coming is normally a contentious issues. Various views confuses people. The one man said it is easy to understand revelatio because Jesus wins in the end. The return of Christ is the glorious hope we are supposed to hang our faith on. Some people's hope is in revival that God would turn the nation around. When bad things happen our hope sinks and then our faith fails. When good things happen our faith soars again, but our faith is in circumstances.
There are all sorts of books telling you that you can escape from what is happening in the earth. We have a mission on this earth. Paul said he liked to go out of this world, but he decided it was better for other people for him to stay.
Many folks in South Africa have ended up in England because their hope was less than the biblical hope. People say what is going to happen in our nation instead of placing their hope in Christ.
Matthew 24
What Jesus spoke about before he spoke about his return and what he spoke afterwards are important too. He said the stone that the builders rejected (v.43) will become the key stone. He who falls on the stone will be broken in pieces. The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to people who will produce the fruit of the kingdom. The kingdom of God is going to be taken away from the Jews and given to the Gentiles. It is like people stop worshipping Jesus and start worshipping Jews. No Jewish ancestry will save you. This is the context as we come to Mt 24. You say you are the descendants of the prophets. Fill up the sins of your forefathers. Jesus is building up judgement against the Jewish nation. All this will come upon this generation. Jerusalem was not willing to accept Christ. Therefore its house will be left desolate. The only hope for a Jew is to say, 'blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord'.
The judgement of the Jews, their rejection of God, the Old Covenant is finished and the New Testament is about to be introduced. It is the same shock effect on the Jews as if we say today that the church world wide is under the judgement of God. God is going to finish the church and hand it over to the Muslims.
May God give us understanding. Let your word live and provide life to us. The world is about to change.
God is finished with the Jews because of their reaction to Jesus. The temple will be overthrown. Jesus sitting on the Mt of Olives. The disciples are wondering about this cataclysmic event. The temple represent religion to them. If the temple goes there is no place to sacrifice. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. These apostles thought Jesus would sort out the Romans and help them to rule over the world. Now Jesus says to them, it is over with you and I am going to give the kingdom to gentiles. They asked him, when would these things be?
Jesus coming back, the destruction of the temple and the judgement seem to be all the same thing. Jesus see it as two things because he gives two answers.
Jesus talks with absolute clarity about what is going to happen. v34 this generation will not pass away until all these things happen. v.36 no one knows about the day and hour when the Son will return except the Father. He is not clear about his coming. It will be like the days of Noah. Your guess is as good as mine.
Question one: when will the temple be destroyed?
You will see the signs of the end, you will flee to the mountains. Trauma will be everywhere. There are specific signs. When you see the gathered armies (vultures) you are to flee. When you see the abomination in the temple you are to flee. Josephus says when the Roman army fought against the church in Jerusalem in 70 AD they fled across the roof tops to get out. Not one Christian lost their lives in that slaughter that ensued. They did what Jesus told them. The ones who ignored it perished.
These things will happen to a generation: it does not mean race. It means generation. It happened to that generation. It is over.
Question Two:
His answer: you 'll know nothing until it happens. It will be like the wise and foolish virgins. It will be delayed and then come suddenly. II Peter 3 scoffers will come and say where is his coming? We have to be prepared for the Second Coming and then the judgement.
There are reasons why it is important in order to be set free from Christian claptrap and give you a sure and certain hope to pin your faith on until Jesus returns. Many will try to deceive you, there will be wars, rumours of wars, famine and droughts. All that happens all the time. It has to do with the birth pains of the new earth. Basically, these things have always happened. The earth groans continually according to Romans 8:19. Then you will be put to death for my sake. By AD 70 the only apostle left was John. Phillip got as far as India and then they tied his hands and legs to two different horses and made the horses run in different directions. Nero made Christians be placed on spikes, tar them and set them aflame and light up Rome with burning Christians. Ceasar was declared as god and if you did not bow down to him you would be persecuted and killed. There was division in the church because some tried to escape suffering. They said Ceasar is lord and they were not allowed back into the church. There were all sorts of betrayals going on. False prophets were everywhere. This destruction of the temple and things happened before 70AD.
This Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all nations and then the end will come. Does this speak about the Second Coming. We are preaching the Gospel in all nations, not to all nations. It is a testimony to all nations. This happened by the time the destruction of the temple happened. Acts 2 says there were people from every nation under heaven present when the Holy Spirit was poured out. Every nation heard it about 8 weeks after Jesus died and rose again. When you see standing in the holy place the abomination spoken of by Daniel, let believers flee to the mountains. The Roman soldiers came to rob the temple of all its gold. The commander of the Romans made them take down every single stone to take off the golden leaf. Not one stone was left upon another. It literally came true what Jesus said. In the place where God was supposed to be worshipped and the image of Caesar was placed there. This is not speaking about the anti-Christ. Those who were pregnant had to flee. If it was the Second Coming and you were pregnant who cares? Jesus was talking to the Jewish people. Let no one on the roof of the house come down. Pray that it does not happen in winter. Why they had to survive in the wilderness. There will be great distress. If those days were not cut short no one would be left. Does that speak about the Second Coming? Or the Holocaust? What is more destructive to the Jewish race, six million Jews being slaughtered in gas chambers or the complete obliteration of their whole identity when the temple was destroyed? Jewish people still exist but Judaism has been closed down, because there are no temple sacrifices any longer. There are Jews but they are not practicing Judaism.
