There are many theories about heaven and whether we have a home there. Human speculation find it hard to fathom the depths of the wisdom of God. Of course we will have heavenly bodies (meaning bodies we can move around in) and these will be eternal, but as we had earthly bodies we still needed homes to live in so we will have heavenly homes. First the natural then the spiritual. If you can make sense in the natural it normally makes sense in the unseen spiritual realm as well.
Either Jesus lied when he said he was going to prepare a place for us, or he was telling the truth. I choose to believe the latter.

Jesus said in my Father’s house are many mansions! Who desires a mansion? Everyone does!

2. More than a cold stone building.
3. Prodigals can return to that place.

6. Household includes family members, servants, dependants

9. We can experience God’s Grace I Kings 4:9
10. When the prodigal returned there was music & dancing in the house of the Father! Luke 15:25

The Father did not discuss the sons’ wrong deeds; the envious brother did! Instead the Father forgave him! He gave him gifts!

Finally the son was content to be in his Father’s house. David who was a man after God’s own heart proclaimed: “I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever!” (Ps. 23:6)
Psalm 27:10: When father and mother forsake me then the Lord will take care of me
Isaiah 49:15,16: I will not forget you!
