Grace

Grace is a state of being. We have moved to a new state, a Free State, and we have to learn how to speak the language of that state and how to behave in that state. Grace Sermon
Grace beyond Measure (A topical study)
2002/10/13: We do not need more knowledge: we need to know how to draw on the gift of Grace that already belongs to us! (Holy Spirit instructed me in February 1993) We need to know how to approach the throne of grace boldly so that we might obtain mercy to help us in the time of need.

Definition: Grace in dictionary terms: attractive, charming elegance, goodwill, favour, regenerating, inspiring influence, divine ability, opportunity to give. The spirit of the world praises all the opposite values: the values that Hollywood and the Pop world proclaim is informing people that in order to be noticed you must be proud, harsh and aggressive and self-assertive, almost rude and develop an attitude that almost upsets people!

God gives grace to the humble. (Proverbs 3:34; I Peter 5:5)
He resists the proud (James 4:6)

The Spirit of Grace makes people look to the Crucified One
Zechariah 12:10
10 ?And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
In order to reach souls our lives have to present a measure of grace to them that they have not experienced before. If we become like the world how will we reach them? If the salt has lost its savour how will it be salted? It is useless and will be cast out onto the ground and trampled on. You cannot move around in worldly circles and hide the light of eternal life that is in you. They will despise you, anyway. You might as well face up to the fact that your value system is different and that you are part of the heavenly kingdom. Secondly, unless you make supplication for certain people, in other words, intercede and ask that God will save them, your life will not have an impact on them. Only then will they look to Jesus! God wants to pour this spirit of Grace and supplication onto us here in our city today! This is the key to evangelism!

Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ, the law by Moses
John 1:17
17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
The law was given, but grace and truth came through! I can tell my children to do certain things, but what comes through to them is my life-style! We can give people scripture verses and invitations to come to church, but what really come through is our life-styles. May God beautify our lives with His grace so that we will represent His kingdom in the earth!

Great grace releases great power as apostles gave witness about the resurrection
Acts 4:33
33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.
It takes God?s power to release grace upon a church. We should continually pray that God?s power will release grace upon every new convert, every new member and every new child that is born! God?s spirit is a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. When we witness with boldness about our risen Lord it releases grace to the hearers. We must not be hesitant when we witness. When they saw the boldness of Peter and John they realised they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)

Grace on your children makes them strong in spirit and fills them with wisdom
Luke 2:40
40 And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.
We send our children to school to learn knowledge and to Sunday School to learn about the Bible, but we need to ask God to let His grace be upon our children. His grace will make their spirits strong and fill them with wisdom. That is what made the difference between Daniel and the other young men in the king?s court! He had an excellent spirit: it was a spirit of Grace.

By grace we receive the ability to reign in this life through Christ
Romans 5:15-17
15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man?s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.16 And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification.17 For if by the one man?s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
Judgement, condemnation and death came through the offence of sin. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But by Grace through faith we can receive the gift of grace. This free gift offers us justification and right standing with God so that we can reign over all the situations we have to face in this life through Jesus Christ.

Grace brings joy and liberality even in the midst of trials

2 Corinthians 8:1-6
Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia:2 that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.3 For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,4 imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.5 And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.6 So we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this grace in you as well.

God?s grace is always sufficient for me
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 And He said to me, ?My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.? Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
The technology of weakness: the moment you acknowledge your need of Christ?s strength and ask for it, it will be supplied without measure. They key is to be humble enough to admit what you really need instead of defending yourself and refusing to admit you fall far short of the glory of God. Pride stops you from receiving from God or anyone else for that matter.

The riches of grace brings redemption and forgiveness
Ephesians 1:7

Those who go back into the bondage of rules and regulations fall from grace
Galatians 5:4

We are saved by grace through faith
Ephesians 2:5,8
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Because of the fact that we have been completely saved by grace we are existing in a saved state of being. The perfect tense of the verb ?have been saved? speaks of the finished result. Where sin abounds grace much more abounds. (Romans 5:20)

In order to understand the entire process of grace in our lives we need to look at
Romans 8:29,30
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
