Agents of Fire

Preached by Apostle Aje Pelser, Harvester Reformational Church Cape Town
Matt. Mark 6:7-12; Luke 9:1-6; Luke 10:1-23
Here are the steps to becoming commissioned agents of fire:
1. Focus on the Commission not your own needs.
Jesus told them that they need not worry about their needs when they are commissioned to go.
2. Operate with kingdom peace.
If you say peace to a home and they receive you, your peace and anointing is received as well. If they reject you and your Gospel that you share, you take your peace with you and shake the dust off your feet.
Luk 10:5 But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’
Luk 10:6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.
3. Follow Jesus’ example: go and teach, preach, heal.
Mat 9:35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Mar 6:12 So they went out and preached that people should repent.
Mar 6:13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.
Fire brings conviction to repent. Repentance precedes deliverance. Anointing breaks yokes of oppression and releases people from infirmity. Healing will follow anointing.
Jas 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Sometimes we should just obey what we read. Call the elders in your region to pray and anoint you when you are sick too! Interesting point: sins can be forgiven along with healing in Jesus’ name.
Mat 9:5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?
Mat 9:6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
4. Understand that Jesus rejoices to give His disciples’ authority to succeed:
Luk 10:17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”
Luk 10:18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Luk 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luk 10:20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Luk 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
“Rejoiced” G21 agalliaō From ἄγαν agan (much) and G242; properly to jump for joy, that is, exult: – be (exceeding) glad, with exceeding joy, rejoice (greatly).
What are you waiting for?
Agents of Fire Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I receive your commission to be a sent one today, to go and preach the eternal Gospel of Your kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. I believe that you have anointed me and given me authority over all the power of the enemy in people’s lives and I will operate in your peace to bring peace in people’s lives from sin, sickness and Satan in Jesus’ mighty name. As I advance your kingdom in people’s lives, we trample on every serpent and scorpion that seeks to destroy. I rejoice with you in advance seeing darkness flee from your light and release your spinning dance of victory in my life today! Amen!
