A Son is Given

Scripture:
Isa 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Three phases of the Son that will expand God’s kingdom.

Child Phase
When a child is born and everyone is happy and raises him to keep to the ways of the father.
The miracle of birth makes everyone rejoice. The accuser seeks to stamp out life at its source. When Moses was born, Pharaoh tried to kill all the baby boys.
When Jesus was born, that same spirit entered Herod and the Hebrew boys were slain again.
But wise men from the East came and provided for the passage of Joseph, Mary and Jesus to Egypt.
God always makes a way and provides for the journey ahead.
The authority of Jesus is even seen in the ‘babes’ to trample on serpents and scorpions and to advance the kingdom. Luk. 10:17-21. That made Jesus rejoice and spin around in a dance, because he saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. If God can use infants in the faith to cast out demons, then the enemy has a real problem.

Son Phase
A mature Son’s sacrifice has depth and carries weight in God’s kingdom. You can only give a task to a mature Son that has been properly equipped.
God takes us through many trials of our faith in order to mature us:
Heb 5:7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
Heb 5:8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
Heb 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,

And further,
Rom 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Rom 8:33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
Rom 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

We have read that the law was given as a tutor until we gained maturity in the knowledge of Him. Galatians 3:25
The New Covenant is a given Son’s Testament, undersigned by His blood, and executed by His will and His resurrection to enforce the will of the testator.
Heb 5:13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Governmental Phase
The Son that is given has the authority and the capacity to carry the government of his eternal kingdom on his shoulders.
Php 2:8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Php 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
Php 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
Php 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

When you give of yourself to God and to others, the government of God rests on your shoulders too. He gives his mature Sons and daughters, governmental authority

Recognise the value of the phases of Christ’s life and see how God the Father sanctioned each phase and used it to bring about eternal salvation and build an eternal kingdom of which we are now joint heirs through Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Now enter the next phase of your spiritual kinship and realize the full power and authority that it brings in your sphere of existence. Consider you identity as a child, son, and governmental heir of His kingdom and start operating according to that understanding.
